"I haven't seen this much anger in a long, long time"
-snip-

said Billy Roper, a 36-year-old who runs a group called White Revolution in Russellville, Ark. "Nothing has awakened normally complacent white Americans more than the prospect of America having an overtly nonwhite president."

Neo-Nazi and white power groups acknowledge that they have little ability to derail Obama's candidacy, so instead some have decided to take advantage of its potential. White-power leaders who once feared Obama's campaign have come to regard it as a recruiting tool. The groups now portray his candidacy as a vehicle to disenfranchise whites and polarize America.

Then, at least we can identify them.

9. and shun them
That is what has to be done if a hate group springs up in your community, and that is what has been done in the town where I work. When the KKK from Zinc sent out a mass mailing against the biggest employer for having a tolerance policy, the Quorum Court (like County Board of Supervisors elsewhere) passed a resolution saying that the opinions expressed in the letter were not ones that the majority of the people agreed with and that, basically, the KKK was stupid. I know of local small businesses who refuse to do business with the KKK folks, and they are not welcomed to public functions.

2. Good! Its about time that we deal with this portion of the population.
I hope that they have the guts to get out in front. Then the clear thinkers in the Republican Party can see what has become of their party.

For more than thirty years, the Republicans have been closet racists.

As in he's half white but he doesn't look it? I can't dumb myself down enough to grasp that mindset I guess. I'm glad.

21. I would suspect they have problems with some of the previous White presidents.

Kennedy was both Irish and Catholic either of which could make him subhuman in the eyes of a lot of White Supremicists. I have seen/heard people discussing Lincoln's features and speculating he may have had some Africa-American blood in his ancestry. A few Presidents probably have pre-Columbian Native ancestors.

Did any Presidents have an Italian in their ancestry? Not White. East European? Definitely not White.

Mostly they are just going to convince themselves that any President they didn't like must have had some ancestor who was not Germanic, English, or Nordic.

6. There are many small hate groups in AR
but what I've noticed is that the average Joe on the street--and we're talking about native Arkansans here--are either embarrassed or angry when you talk about them. It's like they are diseased or something. Not that we don't have our share of racists and people who are scared of blacks (which make up less than 1% of the population here), but they aren't this extreme.

8. Recruiting for racists
is a fun pastime --- I like to think of it as the ultimate hazing ritual. They get a free tattoo and we can see for ourselves who is who.

Sick fucks.

14. For those that can, think of donating to Souther Poverty Law Center.
http://www.splcenter.org/center/about.jsp

Their Intelligence Project monitors and prosecutes hate groups and have a very impressive record. They are currently tracking over 800 groups.

Let's hope that there are fewer and fewer recruits this time around.

20. he's not seeing anger- he's seeing fear. Their whole agenda is based on anger-
and they are losing.

And that makes them afraid.

Afterall, every day, we are hearing random endorsements of Obama by Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Hitler, and other various evil people.
