~~~~~
They started out with 32 candidates and evidently, voters have been narrowing down the list for 5 weeks..
It's down to only TWO! - - -
<--- Biden or Clark --->
Go pick one of them! ~ http://innovation.cq.com/vpmadness ~
4. The more you learn about Clark the more you'll love him as the V.P.
He was very low on my radar only a little while ago, but the more I hear him speak and read about him the more I realize that he would be the best choice. He's Obama's best attack dog on foreign policy and military matters too.
6. Between the two, i'll take Biden.
I really want to like Clark more than I do. He just comes off as somewhat inarticulate and ... soft ... on camera to me. Biden can bring the hammer down, as a VP must be able to do.
10. Obama: McCain showed poor judgment in voting for the Iraq War.
Oops.... my VP pick did also. And since I'll be going to him for advice.....
Picking someone who was pro war is stupid, stupid, stupid and takes away Obama's most important point about McCain - he voted for the worst debacle in U.S. history.
And everyone else here too!! ~
You don't realize how much you miss the gang at DU until you head out for a couple of months.
Welp.. I'm off today and am in the middle of painting some interior walls. I took a break and logged on here for a few minutes.. but I've screwed up more paint brushes and rollers since I started doing these walls.. .. so I better get back to them.
~~ Talk to you all on the graveyard shift!
8. No-brainer=Clark. . .
. . . because Clark has all the qualities to be the perfect fit for Obama's VP 2008.*
Biden belongs in the Senate where we need him the most.
OBAMA/CLARK 2008
*I've already posted MANY times the MANY reasons why I say this.
Biden is a good guy, but he has the senate voting record that sits out there waiting to be cherry picked.
I don't know if Clark would want to do it, but I'd love to see him on the ticket with Barack.
17. Both good men; a very close contest
Clark is currently up by 51% to 48%. I would be happy with either man as VP, but I'm backing Clark. Clark trumps McCain on National Security, he is progressive on domestic issues, he is proud to be a Liberal but lots of conservatives love him for his service to America. Besides, I know Wes and I trust him. He has always been a real supporter of grassroots activism.
But like I said, both are good men.
I'd be happy with either pick but Clark would be great for the military/foreign policy expertise he brings with him, as well as the fact that he's southern and could help Obama there.
I was for Clark in 2004 and I didn't like it win Kerry was the nominee, but I voted for him. I was for Biden this time in the primaries but, he acts as if he doesn't really want it. Clark seemed to be on board, as though he wants it.
25. A lot of us know him well by now, going back to 2003
I've watched him campaign for himself, and I've watched him campaign for other Democrats numerous times in person. Like Obama he never dumbs what he says down. Sitting in on a question and answer session with Clark is like being at a high level briefing, and he never ducks a real question. And Clark's done a lot of online blogging also, not to mention attending both Yearly Kos conferences. I like him on the issues, and he impresses me as a very straight up honorable guy, very warm in person also. His wife Gert is a real gem also. I stood with her in a small group outside a NH polling station during the 2004 NH primary for about 20 minutes, and she is a real hoot; very grounded, very real.
27. No problem, that's a great attitude to have
We all should be that open. And Biden is an excellent choice also, no doubt about it. Wes Clark broke through to me personally when I spent a fair amount of time around him. He is totally committed to the concept of service to our nation, and he honors the importance of team work, so if he ends up as Obama's VP he will do everything in his power to help Obama succeed. That's why Clark became such a good surragate for Kerry after he ended his 2004 Presidential campaign. He did all he could to help a wide range of Democrats running for Congress in 2006 also, because Clark strongly believes that the power of the curent National Republican Party must be countered to restore sanity to U.S. policies. Like Biden, he understands that the Republicans like to scare Americans into supporting the G.O.P. over national security fears, and Clark is on a mission to dispell the illusion that Republicans will keep America safer than Democrats by pointing out that Democrats have better judgment when it comes to recognizing the real priorities.
Not all of them though. Some realize that Wes is the perfect guy to watch Obama's back from whence the Republicans will try to attack him. I hope Clark wins this one and makes a few more people sit up and take notice.
