GOP’s Colorado Blues
Local Republicans have likely seen this day coming for a long time—the day that Colorado turns blue from the lowest level of government all the way to the Oval Office. Recent polling by the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Quinnipiac University found that if the election was held today, Barack Obama would win Colorado with 49 percent of the vote to McCain’s 44 percent.

The poll of 1,351 likely voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percent.

It was not long ago that voting for a Democrat for president was to throw your vote away. But since George W. won re-election a little less the four years ago, both the state’s branches of government (the house and the senate) and the Governor’s Office have gone liberal. And Dems so this as such a fertile ground they decided to bring the Democratic National Convention to Denver, too.

Seems the natural progression would have Colorado voting for a blue president.

“November can’t get here soon enough for Sen. Barack Obama,” Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, told the Rocky Mountain News. “He has a lead everywhere.”

1. We're going to have two Dem senators
although Salazar barely counts. And hopefully we'll dump Musgrave in CD-4 as well, and have 5 Dem reps.
