I Support Barack Obama for President of the United States

I pledge to donate to him when I can, using DU's donation page.
I pledge to phonebank or canvass or attend events for Obama when I can.
I pledge to strongly defend him from attacks by the Right.

I do this recognizing that he will not pass all of my purity tests.
I do this recognizing that he will disappoint me at times.
I do this recognizing that he is not a perfect Liberal.

I agree to allow myself to be angry at his administration when he acts in a way I feel is not good for my country. I promise not to apologize for him when he does. I do promise to shout his good and great works from the rooftops!

BUT

- I promise to spend my time attacking McCain's policies, not my candidate's.
- I promise to spend my time shining a spotlight on McCain's errors, not my candidate's.
- I promise to spend time and work hard to permanently derail the Straight Talk Express.

Senator McCain's policies will drive this country deeper into debt, will result in the deaths of more American Service Personnel, will harm this planet, will hurt our struggling economy and will make us less safe.

Senator Obama's policies will staunch the flow of unsecured billions across the ocean, bring our weary Armed Forces home to heal, provide jobs that will rebuild our country and help save our environment, kick out economy and our dollar out of the gutter, and strengthen our middle class by strengthening Unions.

I support Barack Obama for President of the United States.

Although, I did call him and asked him to vote NO on FISA and stand with Dodd and Feingold on the filibuster:)

I am very happy with Obama,and I believe in his core decency as a human being. I would hope that all of us here on DU would give him a little breathing room, and reserve judgment until he has had a chance to actually work as our President.

In my 63 years, I have never had a Democratic President or candidate that I agreed with on all things, or that I didn't get infuriated with on occasion; but overall, there were some that I found to be, by and large, much more positive than negative, and worthy of support.
I believe that Obama will be a HUGE force for good for America, and the world. I am more than willing to support and work for him to have that opportunity.

oh, that's right, McCain.

I'm sorry - I have completely stopped paying attention to Obama. I am focused on why I don't want McCain. And the list is so long, it would cut down a tree if I had to put it on paper.

So, I will canvass for Obama, make calls for Obama, do whatever I can for him... because I don't want McCain to be president.

And frankly, in my heart, I think adults (over 21) who rape children under the age of 12 are unrehabitatable, and I don't feel like spending money to keep them alive.

I am so sick and tired of the picking apart of each word out of his mouth by "Democrats" on this board.

And I am sick and tired of Monday morning quarter backing for each vote that he makes.

I am with him all the way.

He has brought us this far by his wisdom/judgment and since we are not devoting 24/7 to the input that he is receiving to WIN this election --- I am vowing to support HIM.

IMO, any time that I take to bash him or second guess him, is another talking point for McCain.

I will not do that ~ if I want him to get a message from me, I will call his office and leave a message with his staff.

My grandmother always taught me, don't put anything in writing that you will regret the next day.
