No word yet whether or not he will ask for an audience with Dr. James Dobson? :-)

THE GAZETTE

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama will hold an invitation-only event in Colorado Springs Wednesday, his campaign announced today.

No details were given immediately, and several local party leaders said that they did not know about the event before being told by a reporter. A campaign spokesman said that details will be released in the coming days.

The appearance by the Illinois Senator will be the first for a Democratic presidential nominee in recent memory, as several long-time Democrats said they could not remember such an appearance as far back as the 1980s. But with Colorado lining up as a key swing state in the election, analysts have predicted that both Obama and U.S. Sen. John McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, could make multiple trips to the state.

2. Why does this have to happen the one week I'll be out of town???
Of course, I probably wasn't going to get into that anyway.

3. Dobson's gang would be wearing wires if they meet with Obama.
I don't think that Obama should meet with Dobson under any circumstance. It raises Dobson and lowers Obama all to the advantage of McCain.

6. I haven't been there since the
'50's when I went to Pike's Peak with my fam. Way before I knew anything about "Colorado Springs".

"Dobson doesn't speak for all

Web site formed after his remarks on Obama
June 27, 2008 - 6:45PM

James Dobson might speak for Focus on the Family, but a group of Christian leaders wants him to know he doesn't speak for them.

In response to Dobson's comments Tuesday criticizing Barack Obama for misinterpreting the Bible, a group led by a Houston pastor - who is also a friend of President Bush's family - created a Web site, jamesdobsondoesntspeakforme.com. The site posts a statement critical of Dobson as a religious leader, then asks people to register their agreement and post comments. More than 10,000 people have responded, according to the Web site."
