REQUEST: Please do not cite or quote Ted Sampley when attacking John McCain

which will give some of the initial details, but I wanted to make a more general one here. Ted Sampley is a notorious and dangerous lunatic who has had a personal vendetta against both John McCain and John Kerry for decades, over their support for normalizing Vietnam relations and their, he alleges, coverup of POWs still being held alive in Vietnam. He, along with Jerry Kiley, is the co-founder of BOTH Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain and Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry. Sampley was also convicted of assault and battery on a McCain staffer years ago, resulting in a restraining order.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, I'd like to provide some links that expose Sampley's background and colorful history.

We have a wide variety of issues to attack McCain on; all with legitimate, fair, sourced and verifiable legs to stand on. Ted Sampley should be treated like Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church; a sick, sad pariah that is universally derided and dismissed.
