The McCain people are lying once again.
They have all come out this morning to denounce General Clark and the Obama campaign for attacking his military service. And the media, like a parrot, repeats every word of their charges. But I watched Face The Nation yesterday also. And the General never attacked his military service. He simply said that his military service did not make him qualified to be President. If that were the case, we might be talking about President Clark today. His military record far outshines that of John McCain, even though people give hero status to McCain for his years as a POW. But that also, does not qualify him to be President. That is what General Clark said. He did not demean or criticize John McCain's service. The media needs to get this story straight.

2. Misquoting and twisting

of words is the MSM's way of protecting their favorite candidate. THey might a s well be shouting, "Incoming facts! We've got your back, John!"

I saw the interview with Clark and he is absolutely right. Sitting in a jail for 5 years does not qualify you to be president. Though Clark was much more diplomatic about it than I am.

Perhaps McCain should choose a running mate who's wrongly spent some time in an American prison. Then he can clain domestic policy experience on the ticket, too.

4. This is the media attenpt to shut down any questioning of McCain's national security expertise
McCain is being set up by the media as the National Security heavy weight for President, and it is a false bill of goods based near exclusively on hero worship. Clark is popping that bubble and they are coming after him for that. If they can take down Clark on this one they have clear sailing because no other leading Democrat will have the courage to directly expose that fallacy about McCain's qualifications again.

Clark did not attack McCain's military service. He pointed out that the qualifications to be an effective President of the United States are different than the qualifications to win a medal for heroism. If Democrats fold on this McCain has a free ride from here on out. He will always be viewed as an expert and Obama as a novice.

The netroots can not stay on the sidelines for this one. No one has swiftboated John McCain, but an attempt to swiftboat General Clark for daring to question John McCain's presumed expertise is just gearing up.

5. Bingo!
And this is the perfect tactic for the Democrats. Karl Rove must be shittin' in his pants this morning - attacking him on his perceived strengths.

7. Correct and remember who owns the MSM - they're not democrats.
Rupert Murdock is very conservative and he is the boss.

6. NBC's Kelly O'Donnell says McCain camp will react fast to stop "Swift Boating" of McCain.

This is rich indeed, but do not be surprised if McCain's "base"--the media, comes eagerly and often to his defense. They sit on his ironically named "Straight Talk Express" bus--now today he has a new minted 'STE' plane as well--drinking his beers and uncritically lapping up his war stories and tales from the Senate.
