Just listening on POTUS'08 on XM, what I view as a centrist to right-leaning station (though they do air some progressive shows).
They first played Gen. Clark's comments in full context. Then they stated that most MSM 'news' casters are quoting this out of context and playing just a 5-second sound-bite. Then they brought on a RW pundit who said he knew Clark's comments would stir controversy as soon as he heard them.
"Why" asked the POTUS caster? RW pundit: "Because, the comment goes beyond the pale" (Hannity's favorite faux-outrage term) POTUS: "But don't you admit the quote is being taken out of context" RW pundit: "Oh, certainly."
He had nothing to add. Again the POTUS caster asked shouldn't they be taken in context in all fairness? "Yes" said the RW pundit, he even added, "Most certainly".
It was definitely an odd interview that completely exposed, for *anyone* listening, the extent of the faux outrage.
I believe this is how it's going to play out over all. It will backfire on McCain trying to express the faux outrage over this statement, when it is 100% completely valid.
