Wes Clark's mission accomplished-Debate whether military experience matters
Edited on Mon Jun-30-08 02:57 PM by jenmito
They're discussing whether or not his military experience qualifies McCain to be president on MSNBC. :D

1. As an active duty military dude, I would rather the POTUS *NOT* have had any military experience
because, maybe then, their first instinct in conflict resolution would be something OTHER than armed military aggression.

2. bush's military experience is the gold standard for those with conservative values
You have to be a fucking moron to think that doing something unrelated to another job makes one "qualified" to do that other job. There is a massive number of morons in this country, the success of the gop in the past 40 years is proof.

Except, of course, if you are a democrat running for public office (John Kerry)

3. correct....Mission accomplished, but our mission has just been handed to us.
We must contact the media and combat any negative meme associated to Gen. Wes Clark for making the statement that he made. The obama campaign can't it like we can as they have been put on the defensive by an offensive corporate media.

9. I would also contact the Obama campaign and let
them know what you think about Richard Gibbs having General Clark out to dry.

The Obama campaign phone number is 866-675-2008 and they are listening especially if you tell them, as I did, that they are not getting the contribution I was going to give them today.

4. Hi Jenmito
:hi: I hadn't seen your posts in a while. :)

I think the silver lining to all this is that it will open up that conversation about military service. It's so hypocritical that the media is making a big deal about this yet helped the Swiftboaters destroy Kerry's record.

It's also ironic that one of McCain's spokesman who is supposed to respond to these "attacks" also appeared in a Swiftboat ad against Kerry.

They are such hyocrites.

5. If military experience mattered
the framers of the Constitution would have made it a requirement of the job and they would not have put the military under civilian control.
