1. funny; with the exception of Skeletor Matalin
nearly everyone in the McCain column is obese. Pigs at the trough I guess. . . .

9. Not that it should matter what size a donor is
But of the first few GOP donors on the list I saw - Troy Aikman, Torie Clarke, Richard Armitage, William F. Buckley - none of them are obese.

12. sorry about my lame attempt at humor there
but the majority are size encumbered - which was admittedly a poor attempt at analogy to their "fat cat" status.

Oh well. Meow.

6. You know what I find interesting ...
People who should be obvious loyal republicans, people like William Buckley Jr, Jeb Bush, Dick Armitage. Did give to McCain, but they didn't give the maxiumum amount. Obviously the rumors about McCain's fundraising problems are true, if he can't convince the hardcore republican establishment types to give the maximum, maybe it's a sign that it's true that enthusiasm for McCain among the republican donor base isn't very high.

8. I thought the very same thing as I was looking over the lists . . .
McShame seems to be really slipping with people you would think would be firmly behind the GOOP (God Offal Old Politician) candidate. Did you notice the tabs at the top? You can see some other lists like media, politics, etc. Those were fun to look at too.

Lorne Michaels gave to McCain - maybe he thinks it will be good for SNL

38. sort of explains why Saturday Night Live has been so lame
During the Clinton year, SNL couldn't mock him enough. When Bush took office, all political humor at his expense ceased, making SNL super-lame these past few years.

26. My only surprise
was to see the actor Rip Torn supporting McCain. I thought he was hipper than that. No shockers at all. Like, uh, Joan Jett did NOT contribute to McCain.

27. I give McCain some credit
McCain-Feingold banned soft money, which is really hurting McCain now. Look at that list of donors for McCain, most are CEOs or business tycoons giving to him. And they are subject to the 2,300 candidate limit and the 28,000 RNC limit.

Had it not been for McCain's own law he may be raising alot more money.

I still refuse to go to Elway's (his steakhouse) to this day... Mike Shanahan is also a Repuke, but surprised he didn't donate and neither did Pat Bowlen.

And his friend George too. He's been with Obama awhile, apparently. Total $21,900 to Dems.

36. Not only that.. he told
Spike Lee to shut his face the other week 'cause Spike was talking about movies not portraying Black Men at Iwo Jima..

UPDATE:
"First of all, the man is not my father and we're not on a plantation either," Spike Lee told ABCNEWS.com about Clint Eastwood. "He's a great director. He makes his films, I make my films. The thing about it though, I didn't personally attack him. And a comment like 'a guy like that should shut his face' -- come on Clint, come on. He sounds like an angry old man right there."

"If he wishes, I could assemble African-American men who fought at Iwo Jima and I'd like him to tell these guys that what they did was insignificant and they did not exist," he said. "I'm not making this up. I know history. I'm a student of history. And I know the history of Hollywood and its omission of the one million African-American men and women who contributed to World War II."

"Not everything was John Wayne, baby..."

"I never said he should show one of the other guys holding up the flag as black. I said that African-Americans played a significant part in Iwo Jima," he said. "For him to insinuate that I'm rewriting history and have one of the four guys with the flag be black ... no one said that. It's just that there's not one black in either film. And because I know my history, that's why I made that observation."
