I have friends who grew up in the Phillipines during Japanese occupation. Some are, understandably, not well-disposed toward Japanese people. I keep wondering if Malkin's parents' experience (who are immigrants) plays into - or gives some sort of 'permission' - to her obvious racist attitude?

as a kid, my dad being stationed there, and in all the time I was there, living on a military base, I never heard a derogatory term for Filipinos. I never thought of it before, but there it is. My parents wouldn't have used racial slurs but I'm amazed I never heard it from anyone in school or the neighborhood.

Of course, I never before saw a Filipino behave as hatefully as that Malkin sleazoid. If I met her, I'd call her some names in Tagalog.

"Flip" is the N word used for people from the phillipines. I know these things because my ship used to pull into the phillipines (subic bay) all the time on Westpacs during the 80's before they closed the base. I had many a phillipino friend and shipmate so I learned these things..

So I know a little about what's going on there.

They have been fighting a real Muslim terrorist group, the Abu Shief, for over 20 years. Muslims make up 5% of the Philippine population, and this group wants to secede.

Gloria Aroyo, the President, has been fighting this group with 4,000 troops in the Southern Islands with no US intervention. They have faced terrorist attacks in Manila for years.

Still, the country which is over 90% Catholic, has kept good relations with its Muslim neighbors, like Malaysia and Indonesia.

Georgie convinced President Aroyo to send a token force of Filipino's to Iraq to join his phony "Coalition of the Willing".
When the Philippine Government realized that George and his friends were lying, they opted out. After all, Filipino's don't need to go thousands of miles to Iraq to fight terrorists, they can join the forces fighting them in the South of their own country.

The point is, Michelle is a shill for Bushco., and after the Philippine withdrawal she criticized the nation of her ancestors without explaining it the way I just did. She is now in favor of racial profiling, even though she is a minority.

Tagalog is one of the dialects of the Philippines. If she deserves to be called any name it would be the Tagalog word for Uncle Tom.

No. For one thing, as far as I could see on that entire thread no one said anything that was intended as an attack on women in general, or anyone other than Malkin. The only thing I saw that was even questionably out of bounds was that someone referred to her as "oriental," which by itself does not even constitute an insult. For another, nobody here ever objects to sexually-derived insults towards men, like calling someone a prick, a dick, dickwad, dickhead, motherfucker, asshole, fuckwad, and the like. If you object to the female equivalents, but not to the male ones, that's a double standard.

In my view, Malkin is a crazy fucking bitch, and I will continue to call her a crazy fucking bitch. When we start changing what we say to avoid what a few people could twistedly interpret as an impropriety, we're veering perilously close to politically correct suicide dove-ism.
