I know this is a well liked sport with some of you, but using a media rumor to thrash somebody is both useless and hurtful, whether it is him, Obama, or Clinton.

Do I personally think people trashing Kerry are tools.... absolutely.

I disagree that they are all Hillary supporters, that Hillary supporters are all tools, and that Hillary supporters are all rejects.

These are hurtful things to say.

I think it's time to leave Kerry alone. He is running for Senate. He didn't run in the 08 primary. Obama, Hillary, Edwards, Biden, Dodd, Kuchinch, Richardson did. Kerry has been a strong surrogate for Obama, and it is becoming too bad that even some of Obama's supporters feel the need to trash his surrogate just to promote him.

That doesn't help Obama's cause. That doesn't help Democrats cause either.

Ok, not all. Most. The Kerry/Hillary split has been very obvious for quite some time, both here on DU and offline. More often than not the Kerry criticisms come from the Hillary camp. I think many do so out of a perceived sense of loyalty to her more than any genuine issue with Kerry. Hence, I feel those people are tools. Are there other people who trash Kerry? Sure, but not with even close to the frequency that one camp does so.

I'm sorry it bothered you as you're not part of the group I was talking about. As I said, I didn't mean all Hillary supporters are tools and rejects. As for Goldie....his comments about donating and being poor say more than I ever could about him.

You didn't mean it that way, but it really came across like a mean and un-necessary swipe at Hillary supporters. Since it was coming from you... my response was....err wtf? who stole my Forkboy?

I'll be melting into a puddle along with you in about 10 minutes when I leave the office. No ac at home. Lots of cold showers and a pretty decent fan make it barely tolerable.

and many were NEVER HRC supporters - the worst I've seen have been self identified progressives - who refuse to see Kerry's statements or voting record - or see that he stood against the RW since the 1970s, years when many of their favorites voted Republican or thought the Contras deserved support.

They don't, of course. But if ALL senators were removed from consideration for VP, this would be a good sign of a strong ticket coming.

Kerry would be interested in running for VP.

People will find out who Obama selects as his VP in a few weeks. Obama/VP will go on to win the election and select his cabinet. The bitter people who disparage Kerry based on rumors will still be bitter. That's their problem.

good reasons why he would have been a great VP; he still may eventually go in the cabinet; or he will remain Senator, and a powerful one at that. What I don't like is the thrashing. It's ridiculous.

Never mind 2008 sour grapes, maybe it is STILL about 2004 primaries sour grapes.
