McCain Adviser: The US is in a "Mental Recession".
Phil Gramm, a former senator and top economic policy adviser to presumptive GOP nominee John McCain, has suggested in an interview with the Washington Times that the U.S. is in a "mental recession" as opposed to a real one.

"You've heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession," he told the newspaper. "We may have a recession; we haven't had one yet."

"We have sort of become a nation of whiners," he added. "You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline" despite a boom in exports.

Didn't McCain also say something similar about the "gas tax holiday", that while it wouldn't provide actual relief, it would provide important symbolic relief?

This election is such a no-brainer.

1. Obama has already countered with by saying we dont' need another Dr Phil. He said that the economy
isn't in Gramm's head.

3. TV is a lot of fun this afternoon...
First, Graham steps in it BIG TIME with this whole "the recession is all in your head" crap...

to which Obama replied (to a large audience, with a riotous response).. "America already HAS one Dr. Phil". . .

Then McCain says He might appoint Graham to "Ambassador to Belaruss".. then basically says "so's yer old man" back to Obama...

And Jesse Jackson is still squirming about the "cut his nuts off" remark... (I'm sorry.. I have to picture Barak laughing when he hears this.. He now OWNS Jackson's ass for the rest of the election.)

5. Owns Jackson's ass. That's the truth. New sheriff in town, Jesse.
If Jesse had any credibility or leverage left, it's gone now.

I still loves my Jesse Jackson, still have a campaign pin for him, but he's part of the old polyticks.

Thar's a new sheriff in town.
