On framing and waging this war
For some folks if a media person says something, well we need to discount it because the source is a right wing media whore

As much as I'd love to agree with those of you who believe that... I fear I can't

The right stole two elections already by carefully crafted memes

In 2000 it was the... boring... flip flopper... they are the same memes... so vote Republican. It worked insofar as they got it close and were able to steal it

In 2004 it was cannot be trusted, flip flopper... elitist memes. Again, it was close that they could steal it

So far we have the flip flopper (hey it worked twice, why not), they are the same memes emerge

Some of you expect absolute loyalty... and have brought to the floor the you are either with us or against us meme.. which is extremely dangerous. At your peril you ignore what the other side is doing. And this is what fighitng a war is about

Not just blindly following and demanding that people don't critize... but also paying close attention to what the other side is doing

And yes, we will not stop talking about this, as this is critical, if we are going to win the war, you need to know what the enemy is doing

You have a choice.

You can participate

You can hide your head in the sand

Or you ignore this

But the web is not the penultimate influence on the voter. That is the media... and the media system is still that critical

By the way... some of you will pooppo this... and we know exactly why you are doing it... and that is because of fear.

You don't realize that we are truly on the same side

And your posts of who is for Obama are infantile given THIS is the base.

Carry on... and if you need them, the virtual spades are over at the wall, where you can go ahead and dig the hole to dig your head in... but MEMES and FRAMING are the heavy artillery of this war, and you denying them will not change that fact.

2. You might want to give people a little time to mull over what you wrote.
It has some merit. But if everything has to be responded to as soon as it's posted, I think I'll head back to the Photo Group, where our threads stretch out over days.

Good luck with this one, though. As I said, there's substance here, though I don't agree entirely.
