John Kerry served TWO tours of duty
The swiftboat tour was his second. Why isn't this being highlighted when the freakazoids talk about his four and a half month Vietnam service???

1. I've often wondered about this
why doesn't anyone mention it was his second tour?

He didn't serve just 4 months.

3. Right you are...
...and once again, the RW spin machine controls the discourse because *we let 'em*. This is exactly where coordination is required: all of the Dem operatives -- and particularly those who appear on the talk shows -- *need* to point this out, each and every time the topic is raised about JK's so-called "short" tour of duty.

6. Well Cobia, Kerry serviced 1 complete tour and 4 1/2 mos of another
tour of duty in and near Vietnam. How about Bush, how long was he in or near Vietnam? Or where was he when he was suppose to be serving in the Nation Guards?(While my husband was getting his ass shot at in Vietnam)

8. They can't highlight that!
That would show Kerry in a good light!

9. i think it's because they don't see it as a legitimate attack
they don't see it as something they should be defensive about. that even if it's true he served the 4+ months, there is nothing wrong with it. i mean, there are many who serve far less than 4 months and come back (in body bags). as bill maher or someone else said, their problem is he didn't die there. the same with max cleland. these fools see max cleland and think he hasn't given enough for their country. but these same fools are the ones who support bush.

but i think they CAN respond by saying he did serve another tour, but make clear what matters in the end is that he served and there is proof he served. he was in combat , in harms way and he did things to risk his life to save others.
