Think Rove is bewildered about how the Swiftboat mess blew up in his face?
Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 10:24 PM by Lex
.
Now that the media is on to the meme that Bush/Cheney & Rove are behind negative smears against Kerry, even when they try to blame a 527 organization, perhaps Rove's moves will be questioned more by the media in THIS election, like they weren't in 2000. Olberman & Matthews, at least.

Perhaps now that Rove's hand has been slapped hard, he'll think twice about reaching for the cookie again. Or make even stupider mistakes the next time.

Rove f*cked up early, and that's a good thing for Kerry. JMHO.

It's like when they issue a Terror Alert--now the media reflexively examines if it could be politically motivated. That's the meme they've tuned to.

Same with Bush/Cheney negative smears on Kerry in the future?

1. Bewildered? What HASN'T blown up in his face?
Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 10:29 PM by aquart
Mission Accomplished? The turkey platter? The RNC in NYC? When was the last time he got one right?

Dear God, it suddenly occurred to me: they're going with Zell Miller because they can't get a Republican who's willing to toss his career by making that speech for George.

6. Unfortunately approx. half the American people think Bush is principled
and a Christian and has 'vision.'

No small thanks to Karl Rove.

And yes, he has f'ed up "bigtime" before. "Mission Accomplished" was a BIG Rove f'up. You're right about that.

Don't count on the media. They are in Bush's pocket.
How else can anyone explain the total blackout on Cheney and Bush "military careers", while facilitating this incredible attack on Kerry.

4. Will some kind DUer please point me to the threads that explain how
Rove was connected to this scam? I've hardly been able to get to the computer for a couple of days, only a few minutes at a time, so I missed it. And I would love to have the details.

Much obliged to whoever helps me out.

Oh yeah, if this has been connected to KKKarl, it can't be a fun time at the White House. Rove's reputation for sleazy tricks is starting to catch up with him and he's not looking like the bright eyed baby genius that he fancies himself to be. In fact, if bush* had any brains or integrity (and we all know that he has neither), he'd be checking out the want ads as I type. But that ain't gonna happen. So what they'll do is what they always do, sit tight and ride out the scandal as best they can. I mean, it's not like there haven't been others in this administration.

7. Rove's been in bed with guy that financed the Swift liars
for a long time.

Or at least I think that's what that New York Times chart showed.

Anyway, bet on it. The swift liars are Rove's baby.

5. About time
The media are the biggest flip floppers at all. If it becomes fashionable to bust bush they will all do it except maybe fox.. Little by little they are seeing there is an undeserved market of moderates and liberals and bottom line ratings will win out over ideology.

14. Are we sure about this?
Granted, this is ultimately a no-win for Bush, but it does keep Kerry on the defensive. And I'm sure he'd rather not hear Kerry take the boy-king on with this issue:

15. Kerry won't stay on the defensive. Not his style.
He always attacks into fire. When he said that "everything is on the table," my bet is that he meant it. Everything. That could mean things all the way back to BCCI & Iran-Contra, justified because Shrub has guys like Negroponte still hanging around.
