1. No, she just got elected.
Obama will need a VP with more elective experience than him.

10. Look at where all of the "experienced" politicians on both sides of the aisle have got us.
I would say that not having much Washington experience is an asset, not a liability.

6. She was not that strong ...
Carly, the failure that she is, still dominated that interview and almost always dropped the closing point ... all lies of course, but getting the last point in each section is key.

3. I agree she's brilliant
But I'd be happier with Biden or Clarke or Richardson.

4. She is indeed smart
I met her when she was still an outside chance to get elected. She was a little too
centrist/rightward leaning for my taste, although I realize that any farther to the
left, and she would have had no chance of getting elected in a state that conservative.

Even so, I would prefer someone who would add a longer and more prestigious resumé.
Clark, Biden, Richardson, Sibelius, Dodd, HRC, or knock us all off our socks and get
Howard Dean (nothing like a little excitement to get the old juices flowing, there).

5. I think she would be on the short list...

if the Obama campaign thought she could deliver Missouri.

From what I have read and heard, she can't guarantee her state. That makes it tough to pick her as VP.

7. Smart enought to know she is not the best for the job -- has said so.

8. No, no, no, no, no
The only things she has going for her is that she supports Obama, voted against Mukasey, and she's not Jim Talent. She has adamantly supported the telecom immunity because "it's not their fault if Bush asked them to do something illegal," votes for all the war funding "to support the troops," condemned the moveon Betrayus ad because "Petraeus is an honorable man and a soldier." And I don't think she was that strong in the MTP interview or any other interview for that matter. She's a big disappointment to me, a Missourian.

9. Precisely
As a fellow Missourian, I too am greatly disappointed with Claire. I donated to her campaign, but never again. If she is on the ticket in any position as a Democrat she will get my vote (because I vote a straight Democratic Ticket) but beyond that I will not support her for any office.

14. "...she's not Jim Talent." Yeah, that's perhaps the biggest thing going for her...

12. She's smart, not brilliant, and no--
not yet Presidential material. A few years in the Senate first.

13. I am sorry I missed MTP today,
I like to see McCaskill in action. She is such a good surrogate for Obama. I like her a lot. She has a comfy feel about her, and she is really bright, and on the ball.

Anyway, there is some buzz (I hate that word) about her being VP, some pointing out that her inexperience might actually reinforce Obama's change message. But choosing a senator would leave one more seat to fight for.

15. HELL NO!! She's my Senator, and I'm VERY disappointed in her.
She needs to prove herself, and prove herself as a progressive!
