He will be on Blitzer's show on CNN tonight and hopefully will get a dressing down for such a shameful spoof. I can appreciate satire if it is done well, but this "satire" has caused more harm than good.

Hopefully, the uproar will get the attention of other publications and stem some of this supposedly "elite" humor.

It is time for decency to return to America.

1. Do you really think Leslie will "dress him down?"
I hope so, but it is CNN.

2. Wolfie will probably ask the editor if HE believes Obama is a Muslim.
"Well how can you be sure? Lots of our viewers believe he's a Muslim."

4. That's when I shoot Wolf an email.
I always get the feeling Wolf feels left out when Cafferty gets so much email. I help out where I can. :)

5. Wolf Blitzer will get excited, and
insinuate that those unhappy about with the cover
are crazy paranoid Obamabots who have done more harm than good
with their over the top response.

Neither corporate media or the New Yorker
will be blamed.
We will.

7. He has already made a statement and will most likely reiterate it.

Q. This cover has quickly become very controversial. The Obama campaign has called it "tasteless and offensive." Why did you run it?

A. Obviously I wouldn't have run a cover just to get attention — I ran the cover because I thought it had something to say. What I think it does is hold up a mirror to the prejudice and dark imaginings about Barack Obama's — both Obamas' — past, and their politics. I can't speak for anyone else's interpretations, all I can say is that it combines a number of images that have been propagated, not by everyone on the right but by some, about Obama's supposed "lack of patriotism" or his being "soft on terrorism" or the idiotic notion that somehow Michelle Obama is the second coming of the Weathermen or most violent Black Panthers. That somehow all this is going to come to the Oval Office.

The idea that we would publish a cover saying these things literally, I think, is just not in the vocabulary of what we do and who we are... We've run many many satirical political covers. Ask the Bush administration how many.

9. An apology? Yes, hopefully from Obama's campaign for calling it offensive.

....as if the satire were directed at them.

14. Better my comedy than the manufactured tragedy acted out here at DU.

The target of the satire wasn't even the Obamas.

12. Satirical Political nails it:
“IT’S THE ONLY WAY WE COULD GET PEOPLE WEST OF THE WEST SIDE OF MANHATTAN TO PICK UP OUR MAGAZINE.”
