I just heard this great idea for the New Yorker Cover instead of what they did.....
from a caller on the Jeff Farrias show on Nova M (he has Cynthia Black taking over for him today). This caller said they should have the Obama's standing in front of Rush Limbaugh in regular clothing, and he would be painting them as they were seen on the New Yorker cover! I thought this was an awesome idea! Now that would have been easy to comprehend and satirical at the same time!

2. that is a great idea . . . for a liberal/progressive audience
But, I think the current cover makes the point quite well. You needn't get "in one's face" to make a point. It is not difficult to figure out. Give the regular reader/voter some credit for being able to "get it".
