Clinton unity tour in Boston today

Hillary Clinton is in Boston today in her latest effort to get her supporters to rally behind presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

She is scheduled to address nearly 9,000 delegates of the National Association of Letter Carriers at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Immediately after her speech, the mail carriers are to decide on shifting their endorsement to Obama.

The 300,000-member union was one of the first labor groups to endorse Clinton for president last September. Obama won most labor backing, however, helping him win the ground war in many states and eventually clinch the nomination last month.

Clinton endorsed Obama on June 7 and appeared with him for the first time at a joint rally in Unity, N.H., on June 27. Obama is trying to make sure her supporters don't defect to presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, while her loyalists push him to pick her as his running mate.
