Big Media Talking Point (Whine) Of The Week - Big Media Loves Obama
Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 03:28 PM by Median Democrat
This talking point is the latest one being repeated by the MSM in an effort to bolster support for John McCain. McCain is complaining why his little golf cart ride with Bush, Sr. is not getting as much coverage as Obama's trip to Afganistan and Iraq:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25785158/

Lest people forget, the idea that the MSM is slanted in favor of Obama is complete BS. Watch two minutes of Fox News or ABC News, and every Obama piece is always interlaced with some sort of rebuttal from the McCain camp.

The 2000 and 2004 election have demonstrated how the media skews against the Democrats despite GOP whining to the contrary. Why is this? As explaind in this thread, it is due to the economic interests of those companies that own Big Media:

4. On July 21, 2008, irony was officially declared dead.
As for McGeezer's appearance with Bush Pere, I say run the hell out of it! It was embarassing watching those two old codgers try to stand up.

5. McCain is lucky that the media gives more coverage to Obama
or else they might pick up on his huge mistakes on both foreign and domestic policy that occur every day...

so, he should thank his lucky stars there.

We get to hear about Rev. Wright, Michelle Obama using the term "whitey" and the cover of the New Yorker.

8. What A Coincidence? Every MSM Outlet Is Repeating The Liberal Bias TP
You never, ever hear about the corporate mediate bias or the fact that John McCain gets a free pass. You also never hear Big Media calling out John McCain for whining about news coverage. Instead, it is covered like its a legitimate point. However, when Obama makes a mild criticism about the New Yorker, then Big Media goes crazy with 3 days of "Does Obama have a thin skin?"

9. They are not sure what to do.
For now, they are going on for the ride,
as they have no other choice.

Watch for them to come up with a gaffe,
before too long though.

That's why they are allowing Obama
some leeway today.

It will not last.

10. Is It Too Much To Ask For Some Original Thought?
I mean the networks spend millions of dollars, yet the news from one outlet is pretty much the same. Heck, even though we rip on Fox, all the other networks just parrot what was said on Fox bias and all. The only thing approaching originality is KO's comments on countdown. Otherwise, its the exact same story regardless of media outlet, perhaps because so much of it is owned by the same people.

11. I look forward to KO today.
I'm so tired of these people who have no credibility,
and are not experts at anything,
including doing their job.

12. CNN, ABC, NBC and Fox - Same Exact Freaking Talking Point!!!
Edited on Tue Jul-22-08 01:33 AM by Median Democrat
Why don't they just get it over with and merge? I mean at least be subtle about the fact that they are reading off GOP talking points. They should pace themselves. Instead, they all repeat the exact same editorial at the exact same time!

For the love of god, at least don't be arrogant about the fact they are doinga coordinated hit on Obama by repeating the uncritical talking point that Obama is biased news coverage. Indeed, the doesn't the fact that every network is running this anti-Obama editorial disprove the thesis that Obama is getting favorable treatment by the press? When has the press critically looked at its coverage of John McCain in which John McCain repeatedly gets a free ride.

Just a refresher, here is nice handy chart published in the Nation that depicts the heavy concentration of media ownership in a few companies. Its no coincidence that all these news organizations are saying the same thing:
