Wasn't John McCain supposed to make a big announcement today?

Wasn't John McCain supposed to make a big announcement today?
I can understand why he didn't want to do it in New Orleans with a backdrop of Coast Guard vessels trying to clean an oil spill off the Mississippi River, but couldn't he have made the announcement in Columbus? What do you suppose he was going to say, and is he going to re-schedule the announcement or is it inoperative?
