Hunter S Thompson was always going on about the weirdness of the
Republicans' shenanigans, but CNN this evening just seemed like the Twilight Zone.

Wolf Blitzer was putting it to his guests - who seemed to concur - that the Democrats had a problem, i.e. a perception by the public of a presumptuousness on his part; when of course, he really meant it was a problem for the Republicans and the Pentagon - not for Obama and the Democrats. In fact one of the same talking-heads pointed out to Blitzer that attracting massive crowds - and they really were enormous in Germany, too - was hardly a problem for Obama, on the score that he was simply a candidate. It was a great plus for him. Pity he spoilt it then by concurring with Blitzer and the others.

It seems to be beyond the comprehension of those Republican, MSM talking-heads that the Republicans' favourite Government department, the Pentagon, are meant to be public servants, not REpublicAN servants. Their considered judgements are a private matter, between themselves and their conscience, not a matter for the politicians or the public to study. They are myrmidons, hirelings. Or public servants, according to their sense of vocation - which doesn't seem to high at the moment.

In other words, that CNN studio was like a surreal, little, private echo-chamber, and their petulant reaction (which they were projecting as a nationwide phenomenon) to Obama's milking his universal popularity was beyond laughable. The fact is that if most Americans thought that gross, humvee-driving Republicans were upset by Obama's high and rising popularity and profile, it would just be icing on the cake for them.

1. Rachel Maddow is correct when she says it is a
very simple thing: They are jealous of Obama.

7. and they keep using it. wonder why? because it ALWAYS works
always

they know it works

that's why they use it

and the MEDIA are the chief culprits in this, because they follow the Pug lead, almost as if they're in on the morning propaganda meetings, because they never fail to follow the pug line, as in:

the surge is working, why won't you ADMIT it, Mr. Obama? didn't all three major anchors ask him that question more than once?

how much more obvious can it get?
