I need HELP from DU to prove this is BOLOGNA
I am asking anyone who is able and have the means to find out the truth so that this email I received from my friend can be discredited NOW. This email can make people just stay home and not even vote! This came from a very dear friend who is a hard core DEM! My father was a WWII vet and I am also greatly offended if this is in any way the truth. Can someone find out if the person actually exists? I am so upset. These are good Dems who have turned against Obama because of this. It has also upset me. I NEED to know. Someone out there, Please help! I have inserted the entire email. I know that the repubs are going to be nastier this time around if that is possible... If this email had come from anyone else, I would just "delete" it... but these people are die hard dems. He is retired Navy and I guess that it just pissed him off. He sent it on to about 50 people! I want to find out the truth so that he can send out a retraction to all those people! Thanks.

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here, you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country, but the press reported this story in a completely different light than it happened. This is scary, people!!
If this is blunt and to the point, I am sorry, but I wanted you all to know what kind of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake, but you will never hear this story in the news!!!!!
In service,

1. Make sure that you forward your debunking to EVERY EMAIL ADDRESS ON THE LIST.

And I don't just mean the ones in the current header.

I mean, if it was forwarded multiple times...

send it to EVERY email address ALL the way down to the VERY bottom of the email.

2. This has been debunked by Army personnel no less.
Check snopes. When you reply to those 50 people, lead with the question: Why do republicans feel the need to lie?

6. Go a step further. Ask if Republicans ever feel the need to tell the truth?
Although they'd just lie about that, too.

3. I agree with the post above, you should definitely ask everyone who got this email
"Why do Republicans always lie to try to win? Aren't you tired of this crap?"

Here is the link you want:

4. Christ. They barely bother to change the names in these emails.
They just trot out their favorite form letters, do a global change on the name, and fire it out. Change "Clinton" to "Gore" to "Kerry" to "Clinton" to "Obama."

I think in general the military is getting tired of dying for the financial goals of Halliburton. They are pumping a dry well this time around. Those 25% who still like Bush might believe it, but they'll need to brainwash more than that, this time.

BTW, Snopes has already debunked this one. It's almost like they are on our side, though I think in reality they are on the side of truth, and truth is on our side.

8. Soldiers don't complain about not being thanked by civilians for their service.
I mean NEVER.

14. awwww. I LOVE that commercial!
Thank you so very much all of you for the help. I just panicked. I guess the ugliness is just getting started so I'd better gear up for it and do better than this. I expect junk like that from my repug friends, NOT the blue dog dems! It just threw me.
