McCain: Feeling 'a little left out'
Posted: 12:00 PM ET

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/26/mccain-feeling-a-little-left-out/

(AP) — John McCain's is using a weekly radio address to take some jabs at his Democratic rival's trip abroad.

He says the presidential contest became "a long-distance affair" this week, as Barack Obama made speeches abroad to "the people of the world." McCain says he began to feel "a little left out" and wonders if the American people did, too.

McCain also took aim at what he called Obama's "multiple positions" on the surge in Iraq. He says Obama says he still would oppose sending extra troops to Iraq. McCain said — quote — that's
"not the kind of judgment we seek in a commander-in-chief."

The Republican candidate adds that Obama is now urging the U.S. to send two new combat brigades to Afghanistan. As McCain puts it, his opponent denies the surge in Iraq worked, while calling for one in Afghanistan.

McCain also spoke about the economy and the need for the U.S. to end its dependence on foreign oil.

1. That's the risk you run, using words with three or more syllables.
Kerry and Gore had the same problem, if memory serves.

13. It's easy to forget about Bush's damage to our worldwide standing...
...on a day-to-day basis. Between all of his administration's scandals, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the economy...

I remember 9/11 clearly, as do the majority of the people here. I remember that for an excruciatingly brief period of time we had the world behind us. Then, as quickly as they gathered, Bush drove them all away.

Imagine a president who is willing to rejoin the world community. It's been taken away from us for so long that Obama's recent excursion seems like the impossibly happy ending to an unyielding, tragic story.

:patriot:

4. Aww...McApplesauce is feeling left out?
Obama should have been thoughtful enough to send him a postcard, at least--maybe saying, "Thanks so much for encouraging me to take this trip! Your helpfulness to my campaign was greatly appreciated!"

16. That's funny. To me it felt like Obama was building and repairing bridges
from the U.S. to the other countries of the world.

Sounds to me like Grumpy Gramps is feeling a little jealous.
