Sleepover
Edited on Wed Jul-30-08 10:32 PM by my3boyz
My son spent the night at his best friend's house over the weekend. They spent one evening visiting their family. Anyway, my son said at one point they were all in one room and the adults were putting Obama down. They were saying how he did not put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance. My son said they got real loud and animated about it. I still can't believe that people are still spreading that lie! I do know that his father is Republican (voted for Bush in 2004). If you don't want to vote for Obama, that is fine. However, don't base your decision not to vote for him on a lie. Anyway, it just made me really sad to know that this lie is still being spread. Oh well....

*****Edited to add that they said he did not put his hand over his heart during the PLEDGE, not the national anthem.

1. Stupid is as Stupid does....Republicans choose to believe the
rot that they hear because it's to hard to find out if it is a fact or a lie. That is what the whole Republican myth is based on...stupidy and greed and I have to add racism. We wouldn't even be hearing about some of these lies if Obama looked like them....Of course they would still be trying to cheat...

Sounds like your son is aware of the truth....good parenting will do that!!

3. Willful ignorance is so close to evil that it may be difficult to see the difference.

5. Sorry, some people are just brainwashed and
instead of looking at the facts of the bush history would rather glom on to some asshole reason why they need to rationalize their idealogy in spite of all the evidence that says they're wrong.

7. Why not send each adult in attendance a FACT SHEET ?
Even if you send it anonymously.

Just send it to them and you'll feel much better inside knowing you educated them on the FACTS on Senator Obama.

Please don't just say "oh well "

That's absolutely not doing ANYTHING for our candidate.

Print out the fact sheets, send them to each of them, and maybe they'll realize they're supporting a real dud in McLame.

Other option. Tell your kid to get a new best friend.
