McCain Camp releases statement from former Landstuhl surgeon attacking Obama for "canceling visit"

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_cancels_visit/2008/07/31/117945.html

The McCain campaign issued the following statement today:

Today, Dr. Danny Jazarevic, who served as the Chief of Trauma, Critical Care and Vascular Surgery at Landstuhl, issued the following statement on Barack Obama's canceled visit to Ramstein and Landstuhl:

"Last week, Senator Obama skipped a visit with wounded U.S. troops at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany because the Pentagon would not allow campaign staff or media to accompany him into the hospital. I served as director of trauma surgery at that hospital for nearly four years and saw the effect that a visit from a celebrity like Senator Obama could have on morale. During that time, I do not recall a single member of Congress canceling a visit with the troops despite being just a few hours away, but Senator Obama seems to have been more concerned with how the visit would affect him than how it would affect the soldiers recovering from wounds received in the service of their country."

Dr. Danny Jazarevic served as the Chief of Trauma, Critical Care and Vascular Surgery at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. In 1984, Dr. Jazarevic joined the United States Army and later the Florida National Guard. He has since served in Honduras, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, and Iraq. From December 2002 through January 2006, Dr. Jazarevic was assigned to the U.S. Army Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, where he served as Chief of Trauma, Critical Care and Vascular Surgery. During this period, he deployed to Iraq numerous times, including with the 101st Airborne Division Forward Surgical Team and as Director of Operations for the 44th U.S. Army Medical Command. He is currently the Chief Trauma Surgeon at a civilian medical center in Florida, and also serves as a full Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Dr. Jazarevic has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

But hey, it appears as though this surgeon might be an intellectually bankrupt buffoon swayed by Republican "ideals". I wouldn't trust him to cut my toenails.

3. It doesn't matter to most Republicans
They could have an illegal immigrant janitor at Landstuhl, and it would still carry more weight to them than all of the senior military personnel there.

8. They won't mention it.

It'll be brushed aside by the monolithic government sponsored media, that's what happens in sham democracies like Zimbabwe & the USA. I'm very upset by all this shit...I'm not sure if I could successfully put into words how upsetting a McCain victory would be under any circumstances, let alone a mucky, SUB-BUSH (who looks increasingly like a knight in shining armour in comparison to his wretched GOP successor) slime-ridden "victory" like this one would be.

13. You're probably right.
I'm hoping at least Olbermann/Stewart/Colbert and some of our Air America radio hosts talk about it -- get it out into public awareness to as much of a degree as we can without the usual MSM suspects.

21. Very.
But I'm glad we have them and very glad they reach a wide, intelligent, and informed audience.

With that demographic, the information will get into the public consciousness.

11. Bet his childhood was not exactly one of deprivation. That "park bench" story make me want to puke.
Danny Jazarevic was born in communist run Yuguslovia. He grew up across Europe, traveling with his Father who was an economist and diplomat.

16. Notice that they're still trickling out these little military-people attacks, day after day--
they've been called on it, but that won't stop them from trying to play political football with wounded troops. And no, being military yourself does NOT make you immune from the guilt of using the military to score political points.

19. his statement is a violation of federal law
As a reservist, this surgeon is still a member of the military and may not get involved in political races. Not to mention that he's a lying bastard and hypocrite for using the visit for political gain. Who wants to bet the dbag gets a job in a mcfuckwad administration?
