OK then. What if McCain wins after the manner of ...
... George W Bush in 2000?

The pugs still might pull it off despite all the precautions.

What then?

17. Yep. Watch out for Blackwater, apparently they are now going into "intelligence"
WHich means as a private entity they do not HAVE to operate within the laws......apparently.

I figure they have 125,000 operators in thier private army - more than enough to go around.

11. Me too. Canada is too cold (and we can't work there)- I'm thinking
somewhere in the Caribbean or Mexico but I'm open to suggestions. I really don't think I'm going to want to stay here under a McShame presidency.

19. I've heard wonderful things about France --
or at least the workers' benefits. Germany? England? God, it's getting to the point where ANYWHERE sounds better if we keep marching down this path.

Lots of expats in Belize, I think, if it's gotta be sun for you.

I'm from Seattle, so Canada would suit me just fine!

24. If You're Serious, Check Out Costa Rica
I have. Immigration laws aren't as restrictive as those in Canada or Europe. Beautiful climate. No standing army.
The only way McCain could possibly prevail in November is if the Republicans (once again) steal the election. If that happens, The U.S. will have officially become a Fascist State. No choice then but to get out before they decide to confiscate our passports in the name of Homeland Security. I hope and pray it won't happen, but I'm seeing some disturbing signs out there....

27. Interesting,
It would give me a chance to brush up on my Spanish. It wouldn't be too far from Panama where I have family. Any idea what the exchange rate is like?

21. Ohhh, you mean this...we're overdue then.
Cycle of Democracy

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.

"From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising them the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence:

"From bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to selfishness;
from selfishness to apathy;
from apathy to dependence;
from dependency back again into bondage."

:patriot:
