The McCain ad with Obama on the $100 bill is starting to get some traction.

I'd only seen it here, on DU, glad to see others spreading the word.

Anyone else see it someplace other than DU?

McCain Mocked Idea of Obama on U.S. Currency...in JUNE

Andrew Sullivan, Chris Bodenner, and Eli Sanders all note that the McCain campaign's strategy on race is to (a) play the race card and then (b) accuse Obama of having played the race card.

The issue here, of course, is that John McCain claimed great umbrage at Barack Obama's lighthearted comment that Bush and McCain would emphasize that "he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

But if John McCain thinks that comment was playing the race card, then why did he play it first? One month ago -- in late June -- a McCain ad superimposed Obama's visage on a one hundred dollar bill as part of an effort to mock his supposed 'presumptuousness.'

BUT, if McCain is the one that played the race card, and he was, then that must be made a bit clear.

Obama holds up a $100 bill and says "You'll get TEN of these as Tax Relief if you're a middle class family, as opposed to the ones with Bush or McCain on them that are only handed out to corporations and rich people who light their cigars with them..."

I'm tired of watching the gutter trash beating up on our Classy guy, so I'm taking the gloves off, been working on a Series, you're the first to hear about it, based on graphics and short sections of the Yellow Submarine film (which is heavier than some people realize - Blue Meanies = Republicans), and I'm calling it McCain's "Tragical History Tour".. :)

The first episode will be "McCain: Environ-Mental" and it's coming along loverly.. Look for it at fine DU's near you when I launch, Hopefully getting enough folks to make the concept and work viral as hell!

One way or another, an Obama presidency is going to be historic. Also, he's a handsome man. I can easily see him ending up on currency of some kind.

and unless it's been change, there ia something like a 5-7 year wait after they've died. JFK was the exception, He was on the 1964 true silver and the "sandwiched" Half Dollars. It was an act of Congress that lifted the waiting period. They'll stop at Ford for the $1 coins until Carter and bush I have passed on. I'm not sure, but w/Ford's coin coming out, there may be a stipulation that the waiting period need not be abided by. But they won't put a living president on the coins...it's a ghoulish waiting game after Ford.

Mr. Obama is not entitled to pin responsibility for this reaction on the McCain campaign, as he did on Thursday in saying that President Bush and Mr. McCain would try to scare voters: "You know, 'He's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name.' You know, 'He doesn't look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills.'
