Need help here - Obama's plane and the flag

I know there was a thread this last week discussing the flag issue and Obama's plane.
I need to refute an email I received full of pictures of the plane explaining that there is no flag.

Can anyone help with this?

important to them that Obama be covered head to toe in the flag. Point out what an incredibly pointless "issue" it is,ask them if they're going to base their vote on the number of flag decals the candidate is able to show.Make sure they understand how many times scoundrels have wrapped themselves in the flag and it's become a meaningless political point. That's what I do.

I love how these emails reference snopes.com but then fail to accurately represent the information in the article. I guess these people either expect that you will not check it yourself or if you do check it you won’t read the entire page…

Here are some sections of the snopes article that were left out of the smear email regarding Obama’s campaign plane…

“Obama flew on a variety of aircraft during the long campaign season… including a Boeing 757-200ER aircraft chartered from (and operated by) North American Airlines… During that period, the plane bore the standard color scheme and company marking of a North American Airlines aircraft” check out http://www.northamericanair.com/ for more pictures of their planes.

This is the plane that had the flag on the back… It was not “his” plane it was one of the ones that he used during the primary and eventually he leased a plane from North American Airlines to use as his official campaign plane. After leasing it, the plane “underwent a month-long refurbishment to prepare it for the general election campaign, a process that included reconfiguring the interior seating and modifying the exterior marking to identify and publicize the aircraft as Barack Obama’s official campaign plane. The latter activity included replacing the North American Airline color scheme and marking with the Obama campaign slogan… and Obama’s sunrise/flag “O” campaign logo”

Let me explain what the logo represents—feel free to google it or check out Obama’s website if you want more detail or you can see the symbolism at the end of any of his youtube videos-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvX7yEvNUPk —

1. The O represents Obama so he can use the logo without his name next to it. He’s claiming the O as George W. Bush claimed the W
2. The blue O and the red stripes represent the flag
3. The red stripes also represent the plains and the American farmland
4. The O’s whitespace represents the sun, shining over the plains. Because it’s white, it evokes sunrise, not sunset.

After Obama leased the plane and added his own markings and campaign identifying information he removed all trademarked or identifying marks from the company he has leased the plane from… from snopes:

“The replacement of North American’s commercial markings included the removal of two stylized U.S. flag images which are used in the airline’s logo (a registered trademark of that company). The North American flag/logo on the forward portion of the fuselage was removed and the one on the tail was replaced with the Obama “O” campaign logo, while the traditional depiction of the U.S. flag adjacent to the plane’s registration number was retained.” The point is this: The flags were removed because they are registered trademarks of North American Airlines.

This smear email is no different than the ones that claim Obama “Won't Say the Pledge of Allegiance & He Won't Put His Hand Over His Heart” or “Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim” or “Barack Obama can't produce his birth certificate” or “Barack Obama wants to tax your home, IRA, & even your water” or “Barack Obama is going to raise your taxes” or “Barack Obama didn't take time for the troops” ALL of these are false— if you would like proof or if you would like me to explain the truth behind these lies just let me know… or better yet, do a little research and make up your own mind. The bottom line is this: These emails are part of the smear campaign waged against Obama, they are not true.

Here are some FACTS:

If you make less than 150k a year you will pay less taxes under Obama’s tax plan than under McCains… if you make 150k-250k they are about the same… If you make 2 million a year or more you will benefit greatly under McCain’s plan.
