Dean's Response To My DU Activist Letter
Sent the snail mail letter regarding voting concerns and my urging the DNC to be pro-active regarding republicon voting tricks.

It was a full letter assuring me that they are on it. "In August the Democratic National Committee launched an unprecedented voter protection effort on a scale never attempted before."

"This effort is made possible by DNC staff placed in every state through our 50 State Strategy.

"It is crucial that we prepare now instead of waiting to hear about big problems on Election Day 2008."

Thank you Dr. Dean, once again you are a bastion of strength and truth for the democratic party, and the country. Your leadership is a national treasure.

7. kicking for the 50 state strategy. and the obama campaign
which has pledged to make sure every vote is counted. during the primaries, volunteers told voters to call the campaign to report any trouble at the polls.
i suspect that just knowing that people are watching will cut down on trouble. and with honest errors, which definitely do occur.

I haven't felt like this in a long time. I guess it took time to realize we were up against cheaters.

Or how to deal with such a tough situation.

12. Thank you!
I just pray that it is proactive, and not primarily reactive.

Once people have shown up at the polls and sent back home without voting, there's no real-time remedy.

13. The Letter Said
The placed staff, mentioned in the OP, have been meeting with election officials in every local election jurisdiction in the country. They will gather info on how elections are conducted on the local level and use this to formulate an effective strategy nationwide.

He says dems are determined to reform the voting system in this country. Also, as stated above, they are well aware of the need to address this now.

17. The Fifty State strategy
(so roundly scorned) has been right all along, and will continue to be right.

The GOP stole 2000 and 2004 state-by-state, county-by-county.

We can win it the same way.

16. How can we find out the names and contact #s of the DNCer assigned to our state?
And don't tell me to contact my state party. We are led (sic) here in Tennessee by a Little Lord Faunteroy who couldn't find his own (political) butt with both hands. Not that he's attitude-deficient -- that's just another one of his character defects.

If anyone has a contact # at DNC where we might find this information, please post it or PM me.

BTW, my county election administrator says he will give me a data-tape of everyone who has been purged from the voting rolls in my county (their party affiliation can be identified by which primary they voted in.) I am going to get that tape and start calling folks. I am also going to recommend to our Obama coordinator that the same request needs to be made in all of TN's 95 counties.

You should do it too, wherever you are.

I think this is vital, we should be doing it for every county in every state.

23. Call your county election administrator and ask them for that info.
It should be easy to obtain, since voting records are public information. Whether they will accommodate you with a data-tape is another matter. But even if they give you a print-out of all the purged Democrats, you'll have all you need to start calling. (Ask them to include the voters' phone numbers on the print-out, if possible.)
