Just signed up for the Obama Voter Protection Program

I received an email from Bob Bauer, General Counsel for Obama For America campaign asking for assistance from lawyers and law students throughout the country on Election Day to protect the rights of voters.

"Attorneys, law students, and those with legal expertise will be essential in making sure every eligible citizen who wants to vote can vote -- and that their vote is counted."

I urge any lawyers or law student who also get this email to sign up immediately so that we will have an true army of lawyers ready on election day so there will be no more Ohios of 2004 or Floridas of 2000. I'm glad to see they are going to do something about this and not just let the GOP steal the election yet again.

on this same issue. People can register with the precinct judges in Texas to watch the poll on behalf of candidates as well.

I watched at a predominantly black precinct in a good-old-boy county here.

We can all be sure that McNutter will have people out. Everyone needs to be signing up to do something now. It's crunch time.
