Gene was very good, calling Pat out on his shit "There..you just did it again, Pat. It's the Republican talking point...that Obama supposedly "called McCain a racist" or that "obama was making himself the victim"...Lindsey Graham tried to say the same thing on Fox news, but Obama DID NOT say that...it was a throwaway line by Obama, and the McCain campaign exploited it to amplify the race issue. Gene remained rational and good natured (my head would have exploded debating that racist fuck), while Pat grew more and more angry. Also said that if the McCain campaign was half-way being genuine, they would just say something like "We do not plan to do that, and we resent the implication", but the statement that they did issue was definitively in ORDER to raise the issue of race.

Beck is certainly racist, and let's not forget BillO, who threatened to lynch Michelle and was shocked that black folks could actually go out to eat in a restaurant and not make a scene.

Buchanan is racist, but the contrast is stronger because he hangs with midstream commentators. I still think Hannity is number 1, at least on TV.

Trying to justify apartheid in South Africa, he denounced the notion that "white rule of a black majority is inherently wrong. Where did we get that idea? The Founding Fathers did not believe this." (syndicated column, 2/7/90) He referred admiringly to the apartheid regime as the "Boer Republic": "Why are Americans collaborating in a U.N. conspiracy to ruin her with sanctions?"
