Damn, we are in play!! (North Carolina)
Just saw my first Obama campaign ad, woohoo!

McCain is only up by 3 points here in NC according to the latest polls I saw.

12. Here in my neighborhood of Ohio--
Big Republican area...I am now surrounded by McCain yard signs, I think there are even more than there were Bush/cheney signs in '04. (how is that possible??) they seem to multiply at night, yesterday on my morning drive with my 9 & 11 year olds I commented on how many more McCain signs we had on our street, and commented that I didn't know so many of our neighbors were idiots. My 11 year old piped up with "they're not idiots, they're McIdiots!!" that was my laugh for the day!

I moved to Cabarrus County since then so it'll be an uphill battle.

5. I live in Eastern North Carolina,
and see Obama commercials often on the Greenville (NC) stations. They usually run at least two - four times each morning (and that's just when I'm paying attention which is usually between 5:45 - 6:45 a.m.). This has been going on for a couple of months now.

:bounce:

6. NC seems highly unlikely. I think VA is a much better gamble for Obama

7. Highly unlikely based on what?
No polls are showing McJoke with a strong lead there. His lead is very soft. NC is very much in play.

10. His lead is soft, but I wish there were a few polls there showing Obama ahead
Based on the past elections in NC, and the fact that Obama has ads there and McCain doesn't, it seems that Obama faces a long road there.

8. Obama likely to win Guilford county...
...by several points.

God knows I don't want to seem like a monomaniac on this subject, but it's only people who are uninformed of NC politics that don't realize that it is an urban-rural dichotomy, like so much of the modern South and Midwest. Obama will carry the most populous counties and McCain will carry the (unenthusiastic) rural counties, as he isn't an "uppity n*****." Which, of course, is exactly what the Republicans and the TV news 'bots are calling Obama when they label him "arrogant."

"Arrogant == Uppity N*****"

11. I seriously doubt NC is really in play.
I would like to think it is but it really isn't. There are so many hillbillies and moderate dems in this state that will not vote for Obama. I wouldn't count on NC becoming blue anytime soon.

17. calling people hillbillies
Calling people hillbillies is just down right stupid. Sterotyping is not going to help things and most of the moderate Democrats I know of are voting for Obama.

I know quite a few moderate Republicans who are voting for him too.

that Kay Hagan is going to ride Obama's coatails to victory

16. Is that the one that ranks her as being 93rd in effectiveness?
I thought it was a great ad and was glad to finally see something telling the truth about the useless witch.
