1. I agree -- this was a brilliant move on her part ...
Doesn't matter which candidate she favors (although she
did call Obama "Barack" ... ) -- this was a GREAT opportunity
to punk the entire "celebrity culture."

Take THAT, KKKarla Rove!

10. And she called McCain the "wrinkly old white-haired dude"
No mistaking which candidate she thinks better of.

3. I am forced reluctantly to admit
for the first time, ever, I find myself laughing WITH Paris Hilton instead of AT Paris Hilton. This was a brilliant riposte to a mean old man's abuse of her. Good on her. Now I have to revise my estimate of her IQ upwards considerably.

Seriously. It is good to see a young woman stand up so vibrantly for herself. Bravo, Paris.

4. Yep - she got some real cred in my house today, too.
I understand that her personal businesses are very successful -- outside her family fortune.

And I'd also bet she can out debate McCain any day of the week.

"See you at the debate, bitches..."

12. I don't know
much about her, but my son said that she had created a role for herself as an airhead, and that she became trapped in the role when the media focused on some of her alcohol-related behavior. But he believes that she is no more that person, than Paul Reubens was Pee Wee Herman.

We both enjoyed the clip of her this morning.

16. McCain campaign response:
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds' response: "It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America’s energy crisis -- including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan."

this morning McSame's surrogate Charlie Crist claimed they were just trying to inject "humor" into the race. Nice try Charlie.

Imagine, implying that their daughter is a totally selfish bimbo! Tell me, where would anyone get THAT idea?

25. Paris Hilton famous for, well, being famous.
The Hilton's have been trying to rehabilitate their daughter's rep ever since grandpa took away her trust fund for publicly displaying what a vapid little airhead she really is. Thank you John McCain! Paris is back on the Internet. This time she's not holding a dog nor getting it doggie. Momsy and Dadsy are thrilled!

Oh, and Paris....Rhianna is a British citizen so isn't able to be your Vice President.

27. some quiet lines that I found funny...
Unless I got what she said wrong, there's a nice underlayer to her ad that won't get noticed too much.

When Paris pondered where she could buy pork (McCain constantly referring to pork barrel spending)? The answer: In Maui (w/Hawaii being Obama's home state).

and then again when she said she'd probably paint the White House pink? (In reference to the smears that Obama would paint the White House black).

Very clever.

30. This is just another chapter in a saga that was
WTF to begin with. McCain complaining about Obama's popularity as if it were a bad thing is kinda hard to understand for me since you actually need to be popular to, y'know, WIN?

I have to say that it's a bit hard to see McCain as presidential when he just got PWNED by the named vapid airhead celebrity he used to try to insult his opponent. I'm really enjoying the sight of the Republicans frantically spinning away and it's all their own fault.
