This tire gauge thing is backfiring me thinks..and more

I think Republicans made a huge mistake thinking they were going to have another fun purple heart sticker convention. This little gimmick isn't sticking. Obama laid the smackdown today to those saying that fuel efficiency for cars is stupid. Not only that, but people in the heartland know that tire gauges and properly inflated tires are important for fuel efficiency. You only have to go to the NASCAR website to know that. They made an error. Obama can compound their error on them by marketing his own tire gauges. I'm sensing a strong disconnect in the McCain campaign.

Now onto another point. I'm going to make a Hail Mary on the VP nomination and say that Mark Warner gets it. He's an Indiana native and secures Virginia for Obama. Obama says he is going to pick someone he feels comfortable with and could be president. They have chemistry together. He isn't going to pick a national security guy. His MTP interview with Tom Brokaw answered that question. One thing I've noticed is that Mark Warner is not running Senatorial ads on TV anymore. He stopped a month or two ago, at least I haven't seen any like I used to. This could mean that he either knows he will easily win the Virginia Senate seat and doesn't need to try anymore or that he is going to be the VP and doesn't need to run them anymore. Close friends of his say he was being approached about it in late May. He later claimed he will not take the job (a good thing to say to divert attention). There are other strong Dem candidates that can take his place. Anyways, just throwing that out there in case he is chosen so I can gloat.

:)

2. Aside from laying off the accelerator pedal, I can think of no better way to up mileage.
Proper tire inflation is necessary to maximize MPG, maintain traction and reduce tire wear. Nothing silly about any of that.

9. Replacing worn tires as well. Minimize your trips taken...
For example, I pick up my food from the grocery after work, and only go to nearby restaurants for lunch. If I have to drive to get something, I typically do other things that are nearby while Im out.

Like if I need something from the Home Depot, I'll drop the mail off along the way and pick up other things I might need that were less urgent (and hence I didnt go get them on a whim) from nearby stores.

14. A lot of automechanics? How about all?
It's not even a matter of opinion. Correct tire pressure is essential for the proper efficiency and safety of any vehicle. Check any car manual.

10. Who cares about Obama's vice-presidential choice?
I'm laying even money, what with McCain slipping more and more into gaffe-land (or dementia), that he'll ask Obama to be his running mate because he's heard good things about the youngster.

12. Yes.
IIRC, Joe Lieberman did it in 2000, and was criticized for it.
