Last week, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced he’s no longer answering questions about the possibility of becoming Sen. John McCain vice presidential running mate.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty started his Wednesday in Washington with a speech to GOPAC, the Republican Party’s political action committee, hours ahead of an anticipated speech to the National Press Club.

-snip-

Pawlenty told the Associated Press the party can be “too cynical, negative and need to be more hopeful, optimistic and energetic.”

-snip-

Pawlenty told GOPAC that people want to follow leaders who are optimistic and civil -- not negative and scornful.

Pawlenty even had positive things to say about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in that regard, saying "people gravitate when you have something positive to say."

Pawlenty says that Republicans like Ronald Reagan had ideas. But Pawlenty says in recent years, "The Republican idea factory has seen a little stagnant."

-snip-

5. Maybe just maybe
He turned them down because he knows McCain is a trainwreck and he doesn't want to wreck his career running with the joke of a candidate.
He's right people do gravitate towards you when your positive.

7. that's what I thought initially, and what I hope to be true, but this is politics, and
I can't imagine any pug turning that job down, cause everybody knows McCain is on his last legs, and most likely won't make it into a second term if he wins.

they're SALIVATING over Veepness.....unless they realize just HOW bad McCain's chances are

I hope the latter is the case

9. That puts ol' Tim out of the veepstakes.
You must not diss the party (Pawlenty) and you must not praise the opponent (Palin).

That Ronald Reagan ever had an idea of his own is a laughable concept.

All Reagan ever did was to read prepared scripts handed to him by his minders. That's what actors are paid to do.

Reagan was selected for the #1 glamor job so that George HW Bush, James Baker, Caspar Weinberger, Alexander Haig and Dick Cheney could accelerate the looting and hyper-militarization of our country, while the media fawned over a clown called Ronald.

12. what a surprise... that stinky site left out some VERY harsh words Pawlenty
had for McCain, which will definitely be used against him in the campaign. I can't remember what they were, exactly, cause I heard them on the radio, but they were damning, and I couldn't believe a pug, especially one who's on McCain's short list, said them. the remarks were prefaced to elicit the big jaw dropper when one found out whose words they were.

they've got to be on the web someplace....I'll see if I can find them

the remarks were stunners. surprised Olbermann didn't play them
