McCain and Crist attended fundraiser at home of Harry Sargent in March!

Having clinched the Republican presidential nomination and just after being endorsed by President Bush, Arizona Sen. John McCain is set to spend tonight raising campaign cash in south Palm Beach County alongside Gov. Charlie Crist.

McCain and Crist will appear at the home of Harry Sargent, a longtime Crist friend and political supporter who is also the finance chairman for the Republican Party of Florida.

McCain handily won Florida’s Jan. 29 presidential primary, a victory that many attribute to an endorsement he received from Crist. The first-term Republican governor is now being talked about in political circles as a possible running mate to McCain.

At the Sargent home in the upscale oceanfront community of Gulf Stream, McCain and Crist will appear at a VIP reception for those donating $2,300 or more. Attendance at the general reception at the Sargent home is for those contributing at least $1,000 to the McCain campaign.
