Sure I have my favorites, but I'm not going to gnash my veins about it.

How anxiety ridden are you on a 1(not a moment's thought) to 5(it's a matter of life and death to me) scale?

I'm a 1.2.

2. The Obama team, I have it on excellent authority, is lurking on DU
to determine its ultimate choice for both the veep nom AND the entire Cabinet.

What we say goes.

5. No, you are not alone. I trust the guy. He said he wouldn't talk about it,
and he hasn't. He's leaving Friday for a week's vacation; I'm glad he's getting a chance to relax, and undoubtedly think.

I do trust him.

6. So far...so good as far as I'm concerned! They'll do a fine job of picking a VP.
My only hope is that McLame goes first! Then, Obama gets to clean up the mess McLame makes with his nomination.

7. It's not my problem. Yet it will affect my considered opinion to a small degree.
I'm sure it wouldn't affect my voting choice, unless he chose Jeb bush or someone equally bizarre. Even then, I'd be hard pressed not to vote for Obama no matter, given the prisoners dilemma of a voting system/political system we have devolved into.

They try to call it "representative democracy" but it looks and smells like a pile of shit more than half the time anymore.

8. I don't have confidence, I simply don't have a choice...
Its either Obama or McCain, and McCain is worse, even if Obama, for example, chose(shudder) Nunn to be his VP.

If I know you'll be advising him on this critical decision, I won't be anxiety ridden one iota.

~~~~~
p.s. ...I wrote him and asked him to contact our dear friend in Phoenix before he makes his final decision!
12. I don't care, as long as he's the Pres.
I'm sure once Obama is elected, his VP will be so busy cleaning out and fumigating Cheney's crypt, we won't see him/her for months.
Never one hundred percent calm about anything, so as comfortable as I could be that he'll make a brilliant choice.
15. In you most vivid fantasies you cannot...
imagine just how little I care who the VP choice is.
Hundreds of people are now pleading their choice to the dozens of people who have access to the two or three people Obama will use to help him make his final choice. It is not up to me, I have no control over it, and whomever they choose will likely be as good for the job as anyone else we could name.
16. it is not a matter of trusting Sen. Obama or his team, but a matter of recognizing how systems of
power work in the real world.
As an analogy, one might have the nicest, wisest and most ethical guy in the world for their boss - but if economic strains and pressures are there, that nice, wise and ethical boss might still lay you off even if it runs completely counter to their personal judgment.
There are very powerful political and economic forces and pressures at work whose interest are simply not a socially just America that is at peace with the world. -- And I certainly don't mean this in any conspiracy theory sort of way whatsoever - I have no truck with that loony crap.-- But there are a lot of people whose livelihoods require keeping American society inegalitarian and unjust and the national resources devoted toward a state of perpetual conflict.
It is ONLY popular pressure and agitation that can possibly counterbalance these forces. This would be the same if Dennis Kucinich was the nominee and was poised to win by a landslide and sweep into power an overwhelmingly sympathetic Congress.
No matter how moral, wise and enlightened any politician is as a person, no matter how moral, wise and enlightened their team of advisers; the concentrations of powerful interest are the same. And only the voices of popular interest can counterbalance this.
Not someone I want, or DU, or the MSM... this is his choice and an individual he will be campaigning and governing with for 8 years.
I've mostly been contemplating when he'll announce it rather than who it is. I honestly do my best not to worry about things I don't have any control over, Obama's VP selection is one of them :)
26. No. Or at least, sort of. Not.
I wouldn't word it quite like that.
I have every confidence that he will pick a VP without my help, and without concern over my opinion.
I don't have any confidence that the choice will be "dandy," but since I never expected a "dandy" choice, I'm not holding my breath, and I'm not likely to be disappointed.
To be honest, I don't really have much of an opinion on the VP; there's little he could do to generate any enthusiasm at this point, and he's not likely to pick a strong lefty for VP, is he?
The only really significant horror he could produce would be to pick a republican. Or, almost as bad, a repub-lite dem.
I'm not losing any sleep over it at this point.
I really want to see Obama earnestly ,not regrettably, pick Hillary to mend fences within our party.
I'll vomit if Bayh or any other Republicanesque person is picked.
mostly because obama has zero really good options. he has decent options and passable options. that's about the most we can hope for out of the dems these days.
