The collective media say JUMP! And DU jumps.
Andra Mitchell! Chuck Todd! Bill Press! They're getting us all excited! Contention at the Convention--it even rhymes! Time Magazine!

Oh my God, the convention will be ruined!

How many commercials have you viewed or heard throughout all of this crap? Because that's the bottom line. Keep reacting, DU. Keep viewing those commercials.

I'm going to go out and cut the grass.

It's like nobody ever heard the roll call of the states before.

And yet, when I made a poll a couple of weeks ago, the overwhelming majority (like 2:1) were voters over 40. I can only guess they never watched conventions.

37. I think the problem may be that the m$m has never seen a convention before.
They seriously act as if they haven't. This is SOP--and I'm willing to bet someone besides McCain is going to get some nominations at the RNC, too.

35. Exactly. I was the biggest Bill Bradley supporter ever, but when he freed his delegates up
to nominate Al Gore, I was right there with him and enthusiastically supported Gore from then on.

It's traditional, it adds some excitement to a foregone conclusion, and makes the loser out to be a hero in the end. All good.

Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 03:24 PM by Crisco
You don't want Hillary Clinton as president, or nominee. Okay, we get that.

Regardless of where the Democratic party goes in the future, it's not going to have any legs to get there on as long as you people insist on alienating *both* people who respect Bill Clinton and people who voted for Hillary Clinton.

When will you all get your heads out of your asses long enough to realize, if Obama's campaigners are not willing to give credit where its due, it will be disastrous for him and all of us in November?

Obama will be the nominee. It's pretty common that another Democrat goes on the ballot as well..it's happened many times before. People just need to chill out and let things happen the way their supposed to.
