Has Anyone Else Noticed The Shift Lately?
For the last 7+ years, every pundit show on the MSM has had the same set up.

1 moderator, who generally leans center-right, or just right
2+ repuke mouth pieces
1 dem, weak dem, or pretend dem

It seems to be shifting now, at least on MSNBC. I have noticed more and more, with the exception of Morning Joe (which I refuse to watch) that it is rapidly becoming a liberal-center host with two or three dems and 1 republican.

And furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, the dems they are using aren't... wussies. (yes, I probably spelled that wrong)

More and more they are able to hold their own and don't let the repukes filibuster the whole time, and don't let them shout them down.

Olberman, Abrahms, Maddow... They do an awesome job. Maddow should get her own show actually, but she is always so informed and so insightful. She never lets the pukes give her shit. She just makes them look like idiots, and they just keep using her all over.

I think a tide is coming, and when it leaves, it's going to wash out that pukes and leave a new landscape much more liberal-friendly.

Am I alone in noticing this?

13. LOL...
I was just hasslin' ya. If I ever come across MSM I always have this huge cloud of doubt lingering. I feel like I can't trust anything that comes out of that damned boob tube...

3. very Interesting...but too late
I admit I find their pandering to Republicans repulsive.
I don't want pandering of any stripe. I want factual reporting.
And I'm not going to get it from them.
If I want pandering I know some people downtown with the hook up.

6. Rachel Maddow is a joy
And she's getting some good press, too. There's a very good piece on her in August 18th's The Nation by Rebecca Traister. I'll see if it's online and, if so, will post the link.

8. That's Dr. Maddow
Weirdest thing ever, ok, not really, just par for the course with Tweety, but was Maddow on Matthews. He at one point found out he was a Rhodes Scholar and PH.D (I think Stephanopolis is as well) and Chris goes on and on about how he she should have told him.

She did her best not to say, yes you air head, you might have googled me at some damn point for all you know I might have been a Nazi.

And that's what gets me. How could he not have taken the time???

15. If anyone is interested,
here is the link to Traister's piece on Rachel Maddow --

I read it and reread it. Lots of nice information about one of my favorite people.

7. I love the three you mentioned but...
those are the exception to the rule. The MSM is in the tank for McCain.

10. Yeah they try to hide it with their "questions" about Obama
"IS Obama ready to lead?"

"Some people think Obama isn't ready to lead... What do you think?"

"Everyone is asking the question - "IS Obama ready to lead?""

"Is the question "Is Obama ready to lead?" an important question?"

and so on.

:puke:

Fuck the MSM.

11. No, it's really not.
More and more you will see the people on these shows be 2-1 dem.

Start watching for it. Obviously, it's not going to happen on fixed noise, but on the others.

Just watch. It's going to happen. It's starting to happen now. Just remember I told you.

16. The most interesting thing I've noticed is they all have an AA on their show
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 06:35 PM by Hamlette
I'm thinking that is very important UNLESS they switch to the 3 republican AA in america. I think it makes it harder to outright bash Obama when you have a black sitting next to you. I could be wrong. It could just my liberal guilt-they all look alike- BS coming through but I exect every black I meet to be an Obama supporter and wouldn't dare say anything bad about him.

I also expect every wrinkelie old man I meet to be a McCain supporter and stay the hell away from politics.

But honestly, it wasn't that long ago when we were saying there were no blacks in the media (what was that controversy, anyone remember?) and it slanted the news. No more.
