Who should be the keynote speaker?
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 06:47 PM by TheDonkey
The keynote speech is usually given by a rising star or someone that can really turn heads. Joementum will likely be the RNC keynote, which I think will be a disaster as Joe cannot speak well but it does have some shock appeal.

Who do you think Obama will call to the DNC stage?

13. I don't know much about him
other than his high popularity in VA. Wouldn't mind getting to see him on a big stage.

5. They get to claim "bipartisan" creds with Holy Joe. We could get...Powell?
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 06:47 PM by wienerdoggie
edit--we really need to start drawing in Indies and crossovers. Convention-time is a good time to do that.

19. No way. If we had to have a GOPer, Hagel or Chafee on the war.
Am I remembering correct about Chafee?

Anyway, no Powell lying to the U.N. I blame Powell for many of the Dem congressmen who voted for the war - I think they believed him.

20. I think Powell would be a HUGE draw for TV, and would appeal to Indies
and moderate Repubs. He's not hated in the rest of America the way he's hated by the netroots. Chafee is not exactly...charismatic. Hagel already said he won't speak.

9. Barack Obama
If it's not too presumptuous.

I know, he's the nominee, but he did so well last time. He really gives a great speech, and I'm sure he could do two.

23. If you have to ask who, it's probably a good pick for keynote.
That's how I found out about Obama.

In 2004, I literally said "Who?" when I heard he was the keynote speaker.
