Did anyone else see Dubya speaking at Olympics?
I was enjoying the girls gymnastics when here comes our commander-in-chief, front and center. I found it odd, but not too surprising. He said a lot, all of it horseshit. But one thing he said that caught my attention was that (and I'm paraphrasing) "Those of us who are religious understand that once religion takes hold in a society it can't be stopped."

Was that throwing a bone to the religious right, or what?

Gross, just gross.

2. He was sitting with Bob Costas earlier.
So, naturally, I changed the channels.

Bob Costas makes me ill.

5. Bush would have been chased out of any free country.
China is a good fit for him.

13. That's a really good point.
If these games were in Europe there is zero chance he'd be there. Only in a repressed country where protesting is illegal is Bush comfortable enough to show his face. That speaks volumes.

6. I heard it off a video and thought it was a really bizarre statement..
Edited on Sun Aug-10-08 11:53 PM by nc4bo
Then, just a few minutes ago, turned on CNN right smack in the midst of God's Warriors showing a young family with 6 homeschooled kids. The mom says she and hubby chose to teach at home so they can teach their children Creationalism instead of the heathen Darwinism.

I'm thinking here we go with another episode of The Dumbing Down of America brought to you by the religious right and our friends at CNN.

They won't have to worry about me getting the message, I got it alright.

Then I threw up in my mouth, just a little bit.

14. "God's Warriors" is anti-fundamentalist
You have to see the show all the way through.

7. Fuck Dubya!
Do you believe that their are actually Americans who love that he calls himself "Dubya"?

He ADDRESSED the Mens basketball team and said "get a W for W"

Lebron should have LAID his drunk ass out.
King James did write a check for the Big O by the way.

And oh, Bush would cut Jesus's dick off and toss it to Cheney like a cold hot dog for an Oil dollar.

That's just how he rolls.

HOW MANY DAYS LEFT TILL' HE LEAVES????

8. I noticed that quote, and it chilled me to the bone
But my favorite puke-a-licious moment was when he said that America has no problems.

9. I saw that

and then he went on to say something like, he told China that they shouldn't be afraid
to let religion grow... What an idiot. Most of what he said made no sense.

11. No. I saw his face on the screen and left the room. I'd had a very nice
weekend and didn't feel like spoiling it by watching him spout some kind of gibberish.

I seem to remember quite a few collapsing under their own weight.

16. Yep. And I sent NBC an email telling them to stop it with the Bush
crap. I told them that since he's barely more popular than Nixon, it's really really dumb to keep showing him over and over again. And that it's pretty stupid to have some sports guy asking him questions about foreign policy.

I told them they're looking like a propaganda network at this point. I told them I don't want to see him or hear him and lots of Americans feel the same way. He is over there having fun, doing stupid stuff while our economy is falling apart and while our soldiers are in harm's way. Disgusting.

17. I turned it off
Couldn't watch him.

Why is he still relevant? I like to think of him as already gone then I get frightened by what he's still capable of.
