Will Obama announce his VP while he is on vacation?
Seems sort of odd to announce this "VP alert" txt or email campaign. Also the newest rumor on the street is that the VP announcement will be soon. Will Obama announce while he is on vacation? Wouldn't be such a terrible idea given that it'll take some of the news away from McClown who will still be on negative mode.

The only problem, and it is serious, is that Obama would not really be able to EXPLAIN his choice if he were at a plate dinner in Honolulu and the MSM attack dogs were itching to smear him with something.

1. Or maybe the VP will go to Hawai'i and they'll briefly campaign there together.

5. My guess is that he's making his decision while in Hawaii.
Relax a little.... go to the beach.... see Grandma.....make the biggest decision of the campaign.

Whether or not the choice becomes public before the convention, it's reasonable to think Obama would want to meet with the chosen running mate before Denver, and possibly strategize for the convention, and for all that follows.

6. Only if he's picked Gov. Linda Lingle for VP, which seems unlikely since
she's a Repub.

10. No, This Really Is a Vacation
He needs time with his family. He's doing the one fundraiser and probably oking the new ads...but I doubt he's spending more than an hour on this stuff everyday.

Notice, the pundits seem to enjoy the break as well. It was well planned.

12. I'm with you on this. He's on vacation. Let it be.
But oh boy, next week will be fun! It'll be one week to the convention and it's just gotta be then. I'm guessing Tuesday, August 19...

the finalists are Sebelius, Biden and Clark. Can anyone check Clark's schedule? I have a hunch that the affaire Georgia-Russia may have given Clark a boost in spite of his "McCain, failed fighter pilot not = CIC

14. I doubt it- I would think he would want to do some campaigning together right away
I think he is taking a well earned vacation with his family. His daughters probably miss him like crazy. There is plenty of time to announce his running mate.
