We need a designated "wait for text" person.

Since a large number of us probably signed up to get the text about Obama's running mate, it occurs to me that in the moments after the text actually comes, we're all going to be scrambling to be the first person to post it here, creating a logjam and a lot of duplicates.

I think we ought to have some volunteers to "man the phone" so to speak during certain time periods and be the one designated to post when the text comes through. Anyone want to carve out a block for themselves?

And PLEASE, everyone who is NOT the designated person at the time it comes through, just revel in your knowing a minute or so before the rest of DU, don't create a dupe.

So, shall we coordinate this?

What if it comes out while the designated person is nowhere near a computer?

Volunteers would pick times when they know they'll be near their phone and a computer, and sign up for those times. With luck, we'll have enough of us that we can cover the entire likely period between now and when it actually comes.

bear in mind all the news networks will have the text set up to. So I am thinking
it will be instantaneous when the info hits. The entire information super highway may explode.
