"Securing America's Future".....
That's the title of the VP theme at the convention, and if you look on Wes Clark's securingamerica.com, it says, right there at the top, "Securing America's Future..."

I'm still afraid to get excited, but got my fingers AND toes crossed!! (Yes, it's hard to walk this way.)

2. It's an amazing "coincidence" - but it's almost too obvious a clue, isn't it?
Though I will be pleased if it's Clark!

30. Since it's obvious then you know the MSM won't pick up on it
They're too busy waiting for news to be handed to them then to go look for some actual information.

5. I've read arguments on both sides if this means anything or not.
About an hour ago, I did a news search on Clark, and the only references to this were OpEds or blog entries.

I think Clark's name on the ticket is one of the very few names mentioned that would translate into votes in November. I would feel really good if Obama picked him.

I'm interested to hear if they mention it to Race to the WH tonight on CNN. I'd be more confident if there was more acknowledgment of this possibility beyond those of us who would like to see it happen. :7

All we know for sure, is we won't know for sure until Obama lets us know! :pals:

18. Blessing would be a better way to phrase it.
Clark's been using it prominently since 2004 and Democrats who run in this circle know it.

It's amazing how dumb the media is concerning this matter. Not a peep from the Beltway crowd.

I'm in the South and he's well-liked here. Heck, fed-up Republicans would flock to him!

We're not going to win Texas, anyway, but he'd bring Arkansas and Virginia further into the fold.

23. If Obama doesn't win Texas, he doesn't win the election
I've crunched the numbers as best as I could. Support for McCain is surprisingly soft down here. Obama needs Texas, and I'm not confident that Clark can seal the deal for him in the Lone Star State. Clark's a decent guy, but he's just not the right man for the job.

Edited on Mon Aug-11-08 09:51 PM by Clark2008
Obama can win without Texas, but he must get Virginia, Pennsylvania and a couple of mid-Western states. I think he can do that with Clark.

P.S. And I'm a Tennessean. I've accepted that my state will be a lost cause for a few more years, so I'm not badgering you. Just being realistic.

But midwestern states other than Illinois have proven to be tough nuts to crack, even without Diebold machines in play.

I hope I'm wrong, though. I really do.

35. Obama won't win Texas unless
he wins in a major landslide, in which case he won't have needed the votes from Texas anyway.

Let's not spin our wheels. Just focus on electing Rick Noriega to the Senate and electing all the Democratic congressional candidates we can, plus change the Texas legislature, so we can get rid of Tom Delay's redistricting fiasco. THAT is the best thing we can do to support Obama. Give him the House and Senate this year and a Texas legislature that can correct the district lines, for future elections.

21. GO GET THEM OBAMA WITH TRUTH AND DETAILS!
Now it is becoming clear-- JUST BY WATCHING CAREFULLY MCCAIN'S COMMERCIALS-- what a desperate and lowlife crew they are.

FOR ALL THESE SCREWED-DECEIVED-PAUPERIZED MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS, OBAMA, HIT MCCAIN & CO. WITH THE WHOLE TRUTH. Let people know really what is their alternative, how poisonous it is, how much of a shield of desiring the trappings of the presidency and paying for it with secret behind the curtain power to these dirty interest, is McCain's presidential campaign.

IF MCCAIN SPEAKS OF ONLY ONE TERM-- IT'S NOT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO AVOID BEING POLITICAL BUT RATHER A MEDICAL PROGNOSIS. SO MAKE THEM OPEN HIS MEDICAL RECORD, ESPECIALLY HIS MOST RECENT BIOPSY PATHOLOGY REPORT.

McCain was deemed not qualified for leadership by the Navy, so it refused to put him on a path to the Admiralty. McCain, therefore, decided the bypass the process to real LEADERSHIP and get to Commander-and-Chief by a political route. IRRESPONSIBLY, HE JUST WANTS TO BE PRESIDENT BEFORE HE DIES.

I CAN'T HATE HIM FOR THAT AND I RESPECT HIS POW PLIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT IS ALLEGED BY OTHERS. BUT THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT HE IS NOT *MEDICALLY* FIT TO LEAD AND SO HE IS MERELY A SCREEN FOR A BUNCH OF REPUBLICAN SCUMBAGS. We as a nation can no longer afford a mentally or physically disabled President. We need to step back and stop thinking that we can revive America's virility with Republican Viagra. It's snake oil and doesn't work!

MY GENERATION OF REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS SCREWED UP AMERICA ENOUGH. IT'S TIME TO TURN IT OVER TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION THAT HAS TO FIX THE VERY AMERICA MCCAIN'S GENERATION SCREWED UP...IT'S TIME TO LET YOUNG MEN LIKE OBAMA AND HIS TEAM CHANGE DIRECTION TO SAVE AMERICA...NOT TO ELECTED A WALKING DEAD MAN WHO IS SIMPLY A SHILL FOR THE SAME CROOKED REPUBLICAN "WRECKING CREW" THAT WRECKED THIS GREAT NATION TO DATE.

SO OBAMA, KEEP IT UP, TELL THE TRUTH, BUT SPEND MORE ON YOUR ADS TO TRUTHFULLY GIVE DETAILS....THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS AND ONLY THROUGH THE DETAILS CAN YOU SHOW WHAT A DEVILISH BUNCH HIDES BEHIND THE DYING MCCAIN.

GOD BLESS AND KEEP WELL MCCAIN, BUT HIS AMBITION FOR AN EASY FLOAT TO THE TOP IS NOT WORTH THE DEATH OF AMERICA ON HIS WATCH!

TELL AMERICA THE TRUTH IN DETAIL SO IT CAN APPRECIATE THE COST OF A RACE RACE.

OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!

33. How many of us recieved this letter today?
He's NOT going away and he won't back away from a fight! He's opened up his schedule and he's hitting the campaign trail across the country through November.

Dear

I'm ready to "hit the road" and help Democrats across the country. But I need your help to do it. Click here to donate towards our $25,000 goal by Friday's deadline!
A little over a month ago, following my appearance on Face the Nation, the right wing freak machine took me out of context, attacked me, and just wanted me to "hit the road."

Well, I'm here to tell you: I'm not going away.

We simply have too much to do in these final three months. We have to elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States. And we have to give him a working majority in Congress. So let's give the right wing what they asked for. I'm ready to "hit the road" and help Democrats across the country!

Contribute to WesPAC's "Hit The Road Fund!" Help us raise $25,000 by this Friday.

http://securingamerica.com/HitTheRoad

I'm committed to doing everything I can to help Democrats win this November. I've opened up my schedule and am ready to hit the campaign trail across the country. That's why I'm traveling across the country over the coming weeks.

I can only do this if WesPAC has the financial resources to keep me on the road these final three months. That's why we started the "Hit The Road Fund." I need your help to make sure I can stay on the campaign trail to help folks like Charlie Brown (CA-4), Eric Massa (NY-29), and Bob Tuke (TN-Sen).

I've set a goal of raising $25,000 by this Friday. Make a contribution to our "Hit The Road Fund" today!

http://securingamerica.com/HitTheRoad

When people hit you, you have to hit back. I won't back away from a fight, and over the years we've gotten to know each other, I know you won't either. Please contribute to our "Hit The Road Fund" today!

http://securingamerica.com/HitTheRoad

Electing the right people this November will be critical to securing America's future. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Wes Clark
