. . .I hope not, but I can't imagine that the Obama camp would telegraph their VP choice like that. As evidenced by my sig I want the Obama/Clark ticket but I'm not convinced he recovered from the whole "Face the Nation" incident

1. I think they are giving a hint and looking for feedback
It still gives them a chance to change if they hear alot of negatives. Seems it has been overwhelmingly positive so far. Clark is the man.

2. I will be very very surprised if Barack picks Wes.
After his comments about McCain's military service a few weeks back, Wes has been pretty much persona non grata. Even Kerry dissed him. Fair or not, those comments likely nailed the door shut on any VP possibility for Wes.

4. He made a statement which was grossly misrepresented and spun.
(About being shot down doesn't automatically qualify one to be President.) Unfortunately, it appears as though Obama distanced himself from Clark as a result of the OUTRAGE. :eyes:

5. Clark was right
Getting shot down does not qualify anyone for being POTUS. He has to be more careful how he says it but that approach can work because ultimately it's completely true.

8. yeah that was bad but ...
I still think he is the man. The positives of Clark VP far outweigh the negatives.

7. I think he recovered by not backing down.
He was smeared, but he stood his ground. If merely "getting smeared" is a disqualification, NObody's qualified!

9. I totally agree. Hell, they'd smear Jesus if he appeared right
before their eyes.

And I love Wes Clark. Keeping my fingers crossed.

11. Also, you know that "He's a bad campaigner" myth?
I certainly think it's a myth -- based on his 2004 run and how in-demand he was in both 2004 and 2006 on others' campaign trails...

Anyway, about that, I say LOW expectations never hurt anybody!! So let 'em say it.

12. I wasn't familiar with Clark until recently,
and I think I subconsciously held that "poor campaigner" viewpoint somehow.

But when I started hearing/seeing him speak this time around, I was SO impressed! I'd feel very good if he was on the ticket and our next VP.

13. I agree with that, too. He's a really good campaigner. And he
doesn't back down because he knows he is right.

Over the last few years he has gotten better and better when he's on cable news shows. He's always prepared. It seems like he has thought out what might be talked about beforehand and he's able to give clear, concise answers. That's way more than we can say for a lot of dems on those shows.

Another thing is that he's older than Obama and he has kept himself in top shape. He's prepared mentally and physically to do what has to be done over the next few months. And he's prepared mentally and physically to run the country should that ever be necessary (God forbid).

And they look absolutely fabulous together. Can't pretend that looks don't matter in this society we live in, because they do.

and possibly spread some posters around....;-)
