Well now we know where Cokie Roberts got the idea to smear Barack Obama over his vacation in Hawaii: the Republican Party.

As discussed in PERRspectives over the weekend, the Republican Party sent out an e-mail mocking "Barack Obama'sHawaii Travel Guide." The DNC got ahold of the e-mail, which was sent to reporters on Friday. Here's a screenshot:

2. Cokie may come from a Democratic background, but it's SOUTHERN ...
as in "Dixiecrat" ... I used to respect her (and to
admire her family's history with the party) but
she's letting her ELITIST roots show and it's NOT
attractive. ABC should no longer utilize her as a
representative of the Democratic POV -- she now
more accurately reflects rightwing thinking.

14. I think she's a RW cheerleader in the vein of Pat Buchanan
They wanted to see McCain go up against HRC, not Obama, and still they try to talk up the idea of putting her on the ticket so the RW oppo research won't go to waste.

When her beloved Bob Livingston (Louisiana Repuke) was about to become Speaker a decade ago, he got crushed and buried by Larry Flynt. Kookie was beside herself, dumbfounded and stunned at how her boy got his career destroyed by a porno mag publisher. She's hated Dems ever since.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was f*#king Bobby herself for years. She's a disgusting cocktail-party scum.
