We cannot trust the "other side"
No matter how hard we try to find middle ground with the hard right, it will never be enough.

Pelosi tried moving in to give them a little ground on off shore drilling, and they are on TV right now, demanding more.

It is their way "completely" or no way at all. This has been the philosophy since this Bush took office.

How many times do we have to do this dance to know, there is no middle ground with the current set of republicans.

And John McCain will continue their policy. Even though he was attacked as was his family , he has embraced their brand of politics. Anyone who chooses to vote for McCain is choosing to continue this political stance.

Obama will proceed to do the kind of campaign that got him here. But don't think for a second we can work with them (the republicans) at this juncture.

We need to work as hard for our down ticket democrats, as we will for the top of the ticket.

The only solution is to completely defang the republicans, and put democrats in office. Let them (the repubs)crawl off and rebuild their party to hopefully, think of the United States citizenry above their lust for power.

2. Now they are accusing Pelosi of being invested
in Pickens's Clean Energy Fuels Corp., and that's why she was trying to block the drilling. They have some phonied up disclosure statement posted on the typical RW websites.
