McCain: Ich Bin Ein Georgian (actual quote was "We are all Georgians")
Republican White House hopeful John McCain Tuesday stepped up a fusillade against Russian "aggression" and declared that today, "we are all Georgians."

Addressing voters in Pennsylvania, McCain said he had spoken by telephone earlier with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who he said wanted to thank the American people for their support.

"I told him that I know I speak for every American when I say to him, today, we are all Georgians," said the Republican, a hardliner against Russia who wants the mighty nation expelled from the Group of Eight club.

Both McCain and his Democratic rival Barack Obama have condemned Russia's incursion into Georgia following the Saakashvili government's abortive attempt to rein in the breakaway, pro-Moscow region of South Ossetia.

1. ROFLMAO!!! Why is it that McCain keeps trying to copy Obama and falling short???
Edited on Tue Aug-12-08 04:39 PM by eshfemme
He was sooo jealous of Obama's "celebrity" welcome in Europe and his attempt at copying that? Going to a German waffle house and making an ad that prompted PARIS HILTON of all people to give him a smack down. He's jealous of Obama constantly being compared to JFK and what does he do? He lamely rips off one of JFK's famous quotes that ends up making him look like a lame grandstander. Let's not forget his motto that was such a weak rip-off of the ORIGINAL slogan that Obama intelligently came up, which Obama came up with just by listening to the people instead of the polls.

All I'm left with is wondering when did McCain become such a sad little clown. He sure wasn't like this in 2000. Was it just the innate challenge Obama's presence presented to McCain's oversensitive little ego?

Obama doesn't wear a flag pin and suddenly he's anti-America. Love the double standard on this. :eyes:

3. Not me, old man.
"... I know I speak for every American when I say to him, today, we are all Georgians."

The more I am reading and seeing, it appears that the Bush-loving, Milton Friedman-following president of Georgia started this war.

I disapprove of violence to settle problems ... but it looks like the Ossetians are in the right and Georgia's blunder was in trying to subjugate them by force.

McCain and Bush and Saakashvili are looking like the warmongers ... big surprise.

8. Did you see the video of this?
He looked like he was delivering a carefully rehearsed line. Watch it and take note of the double eyebrow wriggle he does at the end. Almost like a nervous tic. It was so phoney.
